Tristan Baker, Shenandoah, Sr., Second Base
February 25, 2019Baker, a senior from Williamsport, Md., slashed .500/.600/1.375 in a two-game sweep of Neumann as all four of his hits went for extra bases. Baker opened with a RBI triple and two walks to go with a run scored in a 13-6 victory in game one. The Hornets second baseman went 3-for-4 in game two with two doubles, four RBI, and his first career homerun. -
Cole Migliorini, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Outfielder
April 30, 2018Migliorini, a senior from Stafford, Va., wrapped up the regular season with a hot bat as he registered a .727/.800/1.455 slash line in the Yellow Jackets 2-1 week that saw them secure the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Migliorini went 8-for-11 with a triple, two homers, seven runs driven in, six runs scored, four walks, and a pair of stolen bases. He was 4-for-4 with a triple, homer, four RBI, four runs scored, and a steal in a 14-3 non-conference win at St. Mary's (Md.). In a doubleheader split with Roanoke, he went 4-for-7 with a homer and three RBI in a 12-0 shutout victory in game one and two more singles in an 11-3 setback in game two. For the season, Migliorini is hitting .369 with six homers and 38 RBI, which rank eighth, seventh, and sixth in the ODAC, respectively. His 52 hits are fifth in the conference, while his .574 slugging percentage ranks sixth.

Colin Selby, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Pitcher
April 30, 2018Selby, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., put the finishing touches on a strong season with eight shutout innings in a 12-0 triumph over Roanoke in game-one of a season-ending split. The victory improved his season record to 9-1, tying him with Virginia Wesleyan's Jacob Pilarski for tops in the league. More importantly, it wrapped up the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Selby gave up just four hits and walked two batters while fanning 10 Maroons. It is his third game of 10-plus strikeouts this season. He did not allow more than one baserunner in any inning, setting down seven straight batters after issuing a game-open walk. Selby is #1 in the ODAC in strikeouts (93) and strikeouts per nine innings (12.01). He owns the league's second-best earned run average at 2.20 in 69.2 innings of work.

Sam Watson, Roanoke, So., Outfielder
April 24, 2018Watson, a sophomore from Virginia Beach, Va., was a mainstay on the basepaths in the Maroons 4-1 week as he generated 14 runs of offense and hit .526 (10-for-19) with a pair of walks for the week. Watson reached base at least twice in each game and registered four multi-hit outings. He opened with a 2-for-4 showing with three runs driven in and a run scored in a 15-6 non-conference win over Greensboro. He had two more hits including a double with a RBI, run scored, and a walk in a 5-3 win over Emory & Henry. Watson went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in the Maroons lone setback, an 8-5 decision to Washington and Lee. He followed with a 1-for-3 effort in a 6-1 win in game two, driving in two runs and scoring once with a walk and a stolen base. He capped his week with a 2-for-4 performances with a RBI and two runs scored in an 11-2 non-conference victory over Ferrum. For the season, Watson is hitting .319 (37-for-116) with four doubles, 27 runs scored, and 21 runs driven in.

Jacob Pilarski, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Pitcher
April 24, 2018Pilarski, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa., was outstanding both on the hill and at the dish in the Marlins 4-0 week on the road. Pilarski went the distance with a four hit shutout over nine innings in a 8-0 victory at Emory & Henry in game one of a sweep of the Wasps. He walked one batter and fanned nine on the way to his ODAC-leading ninth victory. He had a stretch of retiring eight straight batters thru the middle innings of the contest. He owns a 1.45 earned run average with 55 strikeouts in 62.0 innings of work on the season. With the bat in his hands, Pilarski went 8-for-13 with three doubles, five runs driven in, two runs scored, and two stolen bases in three games. He was 4-for-8 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored in a non-conference sweep (6-4, 12-4) at Methodist. After his shutout pitching performance in game two at E&H, he went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and a run scored in a 14-6 victory in game two. Pilarski is hitting .356 (31-for-87) with eight doubles, three homers, 21 RBI, 17 runs scored, and the ODAC's fifth-best slugging percentage at .575.

Luke Nussman, Shenandoah, Jr., First Base
April 16, 2018Nussman, a junior from Kingsport, Tenn., picks up his second weekly award after leading Shenandoah to a 4-0 week that including a trio of ODAC victories. Nussman posted a .706/.727/.824 slash line as he went 12-for-17 with two doubles, 10 runs driven in, eight runs scored, three walks, and a stolen base. He had at least two hits in each game with a pair of four-hit efforts. Nussman went 2-for-3 with two RBI in a 6-3 win over Bridgewater. He followed with a 4-for-5 day in a 13-5 non-conference win at Elizabethtown. He doubled, drove in three, and scored twice in that game. He went 2-for-5 with five runs scored, a double, two RBI, and three walks in the Hornets explosion for 26 runs in in game one at Hampden-Sydney. He was 4-for-6 in game two, driving in three runs while scoring one of his own and stealing a base in an 11-5 decision. Nussman saw his average jump 51 points to .371 following the week's performances. He is sixth in the ODAC with 31 RBI and seventh in both hits (43) and total bases (63).

Nick Roth, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Pitcher
April 16, 2018Roth, a junior from Henrico, Va., put together a strong effort over seven frames in a 7-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite. Roth surrendered just three baserunners as he gave up two hits and walked one while fanning eight. He gave up a two-out single in the first and then another single with one down in the sixth. He retired 13 straight batters before the second of EMU's two knocks. Roth and teammate Colin Selby are tied for second in the ODAC with seven wins as Roth improved to 7-0 on the season. He owns a 1.94 earned run average over 51.0 innings on the hill. He's struck out 46 and walked just two batters.

Luke Nussman, Shenandoah, Jr., First Base
April 09, 2018Nussman, a junior from Kingsport, Tenn., hit safely in five of six games and drove in at least one run in five games to help the nationally 22nd-ranked Hornets to a 6-0 week. Nussman went 12-for-26 (.462) overall with a double, triple, two homers, 10 runs scored, nine runs driven in, and a stolen base in the half-dozen victories. He doubled and homered with three RBI and three runs scored in a 19-2 win over E&H in game one of a sweep. He homered again in the second game, helping SU to an 18-3 victory. He had three hits including a triple with two RBI in a 17-3 non-conference win at York (Pa.). Capped his week with two hits and two RBI in an 11-0 non-conference win over Neumann. For the season, Nussman his hitting .320 with seven doubles, three homers, and 21 RBI.

Colin Morse, Shenandoah, Sr., Pitcher
April 09, 2018Morse, a senior from Vienna, Va., stymied Emory & Henry for eight innings in the nationally 22nd-ranked Hornets 19-2 conference victory. Morse surrendered just one hit and didn't allow a run in his time on the hill. He walked three Wasps and struck out seven. He retired 10 straight batters thru the middle of the contest before giving up a walk to start the seventh inning. For the season, Morse is now 4-2 with a 2.66 earned run average in 44.0 innings of work. He's third in the league with 43 strikeouts and has walked 19 batters.

Ryan Duphorn, Randolph-Macon, So., Centerfield
April 02, 2018Duphorn, a sophomore from Erial, N.J., was a constant threat on base for the Yellow Jackets as he worked his way onto the basepaths 16 times over the course of four games including three ODAC wins and a non-conference tie. Duphorn, Randolph-Macon's leadoff hitter, registered a .533/.696/.533 slash line powered by 8-of-15 from plate with five runs scored, three runs driven in, eight walks, and a pair of stolen bases. He reached base at least three times each game. Duphorn was a combined 3-for-6 with five walks, two stolen bases, and two runs scored in the Yellow Jackets sweep of Washington and Lee, 10-5 and 8-1. He drove in two runs and scored three times as part of a 3-for-5 day that included two walks in an 18-18 lock with York (Pa.). He was also 2-for-4 with a walk in a 4-2 victory over Hampden-Sydney. For the season, Duphorn is hitting .397 (27-for-68) with four doubles and 10 RBI. He leads the league in walks (24), helping him to the second-best on-base percentage (.559) and third-most runs (26). His 10 stolen bases are third in the conference.

Colin Selby, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Pitcher
April 02, 2018Selby, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., had the strikeout pitch working in a 10-5 victory at Washington and Lee as he set down a new career-high and ODAC season-high 14 Generals in a full seven innings of work. He gave up two runs (one earned) and scattered seven hits while walking a pair. After giving up two runs in the first inning, Selby settled down to retire the next five straight with four coming via strikeout. He fanned at least one batter each inning, striking out the side in both the fourth and fifth innings. The outing marked his seven 10-plus punchout game of the season. Selby is now 5-1 on the season with a 2.81 earned run average in 41.2 innings of work. He's struck out a league-best 61 batters.

Will Salva, Roanoke, Fr., Infielder
March 26, 2018Salva, a freshman from Leesburg, Va., helped the nationally ranked Maroons to a 3-0 week that included a two-day two-game sweep of fellow nationally ranked Shenandoah on the road. Salva went 7-for-13 over the three contests, smacking a double and a homer to go with six runs driven in, five runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base. He was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in a 7-1 win at Greensboro. He went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base in an 8-5 victory in game one at Shenandoah. He followed up with a 4-for-5 day in a 14-3 triumph in game two. He belted a homer and drove in four runs while scoring four more. For the season, Salva is hitting .393 (22-for-56) with 13 RBI and 29 total bases.

Bailey Hall, Eastern Mennonite, So., Pitcher
March 26, 2018Hall, a sophomore from Daleville, Va., went the distance in a nine-inning gem to help the Royals defeat Emory & Henry, 4-1. Hall scattered eight hits during his full shift on the hill, giving up one run without a walk. He fanned four batters and at one point retired 17-of-18 batters after allowing the Wasps lone run in the fourth inning. His complete game is a first for an EMU hurler since current pitching coach Adam Posey did it as a senior in 2014. Hall is now 3-2 on the season with a 3.82 earned run average.

Sean Guida, Roanoke, Sr., Outfielder
March 19, 2018Guida, a senior from Summit, N.J., put together a strong week at the dish in helping Roanoke capture a trio of conference victories. Guida posted a .615/.667/1.385 slash line powered by an 8-for-13 showing with five extra-base hits, four runs scored, six runs driven in, and a pair of walks. He opened his week going 2-for-5 with a double, homer, two RBI and a run scored in a 10-1 win at Lynchburg. Guida went 6-for-8 in a sweep of Eastern Mennonite, going 2-for-3 with a double, homer, two runs scored, two RBI, and a pair of walks in an 8-4 win in game one. In the second outing, he was 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBI, and a run scored. For the season, Guida is third in the league in batting (.453) and on-base percentage (.557) and ranks second in slugging (.797), runs scored (21), and hits (29th). He leads the ODAC in triples (4) and total bases (51).

Ben West, Roanoke, Jr., Pitcher
March 19, 2018West, a junior from Chapel Hill, N.C., twirled a gem in game two of a doubleheader sweep of Eastern Mennonite. West went seven strong and gave up just three hits. He didn't allow a run and walked three while fanning seven. West set the tone early, striking out four of the first five Royals he faced. He also worked around a pair of Maroon errors in the fourth inning to keep the shutout bid alive. West is 3-1 in his first season on the hill. He owns a 1.83 earned run average with 21 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work covering five total appearances.

Joseph Tuzzolo, Randolph-Macon, Sr., First Base
March 12, 2018Tuzzolo, a senior from Newport News, Va., was a mainstay on the basepaths in the Yellow Jackets road sweep of Emory & Henry. Tuzzolo was 6-for-8 from the dish and posted a .750/.778/1.625 slash line in the series. He went 3-for-4 in both games. He scored three runs in game one and drove in two runs towards a 19-6 win. In game two, he scored four times and homered twice on the way to posting seven RBI in a 22-5 triumph. For the season, Tuzzolo is fifth in the ODAC in hitting (.429) and owns the conference's best slugging percentage at 1.029. He's also #1 in homers (6) and is second with 19 runs driven in and 36 total bases.

March 12, 2018Morse, a senior from Vienna, Va., helped the Hornets pick up a conference victory at Lynchburg, 5-1, last week. He went 6.2 innings and surrendered just one run on three hits. He walked a pair and struck out eight batters. He retired the first six batters of the game and struck out at least one batter in each inning he pitched but the third. He is now 2-0 on the season with a 0.46 earned run average and 25 strikeouts in 19.2 innings on the hill.

Ben Sexton, Emory & Henry, Jr., Outfielder
March 05, 2018Sexton, a junior from Lebanon, Va., brought his power bat to the park last week as he helped Emory & Henry to a 3-0 mark with a .700/.636/1.300 slash line. Sexton was 7-for-10 in the three outings, smacking a trio of doubles and a homer to go with seven RBI and four runs scored. He also stole three bases without being caught. Sexton went 4-for-4 in a 15-11 triumph at Ferrum. Two of those hits were doubles as he scored twice, drove in two runs and swiped two games. In game two against Southern Virginia -- following a 6-3 victory in game one -- Sexton proved the difference-maker as E&H swept the Knights, 12-9. Sexton went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, a stolen base, and a walk-off three run homer. The dinger gave him five RBI for the game. Sexton is tied for third in the ODAC with a .500 (11-for-22) batting average. He's collected four doubles with a homer and nine RBI. His .818 slugging percentage is third in the league.

Michale Bugonowicz, Shenandoah, Sr., Pitcher
March 05, 2018Bugonowicz, a senior from Hanover Township, Pa., made two appearances for the Hornets and came away with two victories last week. Bugonowicz game up just four hits over 7.2 innings of work. In a 9-0 win over Mary Washington, he worked five full frames and gave up four hits with a walk and four strikeouts. He followed that with 2.2 innings of hit-free ball in a 9-6 victory over City College of New York. He walked one and retired four of the eight batters he faced via punchout. Bugonowicz is 2-1 on the season with a 0.71 earned run average in 12.2 innings of work. He's fanned 13 batters and walked just one.

Zach Roberts, Eastern Mennonite, Jr., Shortstop
February 26, 2018Roberts, a junior from Stuarts Draft, Va., put together a .478.625.696 slash line thru seven games in which Eastern Mennonite posted a 5-2 record. Roberts collected four multi-hit games on the way to going 11-for-23 with five doubles, eight runs scored, and six runs driven in. He also walked eight times and stole a trio of bases without being caught. He went 3-for-3 with a double, walk, run scored, and a RBI in a 4-2 win over Juniata. He smacked two doubles in game two with two runs scored and another free pass in a 14-8 triumph. He was 2-for-3 with two walks, three RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in a 9-4 win over Penn State-Harrisburg. For the season, Roberts is hitting .400 (12-for-30) with five doubles, seven RBI, and nine runs scored. His .581 OBP is fifth in the league.

Jacob Pilarski, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Pitcher
February 26, 2018Pilarski, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa., made better than good in his first start of the season as he racked up his second win of the year with a complete-game seven-inning effort in the first of two games for Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, February 23. Pilarski helped the Marlins blank Brockport State, 10-0, with seven shutout frames. He allowed just one hit and walked a pair of batters while fanning eight. Pilarski sat down the first seven batters he faced including striking out the side in the second inning.

Austin Batten, Bridgewater, Sr., Outfielder
February 19, 2018Batten, a senior from Ruckersvile, Va., played the role of prototypical leadoff hitter in the Eagles season-opening doubleheaders split at Brevard College. Batten reached base seven times in nine plate appearances over two games, helping him to a .778 OBP. He was 5-for-7 at the dish with two RBI and a stolen base. In a 21-1 win in game one, Batten went 2-for-3 with two walks, scored twice and drove in two runs to go with a stolen base. He was 3-for-4 in a 6-5 setback in game two, scoring one time.

Colin Selby, Randolph-Macon, Jr., Pitcher
February 19, 2018Selby, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., started his season with a victory in a 5-3 decision in game two over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Selby went five scoreless and hitless innings with his only baserunner allowed coming in his final inning. He rolled up three ground ball outs in the first inning and then sent the next nine batters walking back to the dugout via strikeouts. He got his career-best 10th punchout as the second out in the fifth inning before giving up a two-out walk. A ground out ended the frame and his season-opening outing.

Zach Loewenberg, Washington and Lee, Jr. First Base
February 12, 2018Loewenberg, a junior from Baltimore, Md., opened the season with a 3-for-6 combined effort in a sweep of Averett University. Loewenberg went 1-for-3 in a 6-0 victory in game one. He game two, he reached base four times with two hits and two walks to go with a stolen base in an 11-7 win. Twice he gave the Generals' a lead, first with a sac fly for a 4-3 edge in the second. He put W&L on top for good with a two-run double to break a 7-7 tie in the fifth frame.

Carson McKoon, Washington and Lee, So., Pitcher
February 12, 2018McKoon, a sophomore from Chattanooga, Tenn., spearheaded the Generals' shutout effort with a strong outing in a 6-0 victory over Averett in the season-opener. McKoon went 6.2 innings on the hill and surrendered just three hits without a walk, missing a complete-game in the 7-inning doubleheader contests by one out. He fanned seven along the way. After allowing a first-inning single with two down, McKoon set down 11 straight batters before a one-out single back up the middle broke his run in the fifth.
