West, a junior from Chapel Hill, N.C., twirled a gem in game two of a doubleheader sweep of Eastern Mennonite. West went seven strong and gave up just three hits. He didn't allow a run and walked three while fanning seven. West set the tone early, striking out four of the first five Royals he faced. He also worked around a pair of Maroon errors in the fourth inning to keep the shutout bid alive. West is 3-1 in his first season on the hill. He owns a 1.83 earned run average with 21 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work covering five total appearances.

Colin Selby, R-MC: worked 8.0 strong frames in the Yellow Jackets 4-1 win over Guilford. Gave up one run on five hits with two walks and nine strikeouts.

Chance Pauley, VWU: went 1-0 in two outings last week, both starts. Got the win in a 10-5 victory at Salisbury, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Took a no-decision in a 5-4 win over Washington and Lee. Work 8.2 innings giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits with four walks and four strikeouts.
