Goodman Named to Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Junior Basketball Player to Represent ODAC and W&L at National Level

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) recently released its 2007-08 NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) roster and Washington and Lee junior guard Isaiah Goodman (Richfield, Minn./Holy Angels) was selected to represent the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on the committee.

The Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is comprised of twenty-four members, including one student-athlete from each of the Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee conferences and four members from Division III independent institutions, and is designed to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA-member institution campuses.

As a SAAC representative, Goodman will represent the ODAC and W&L's interests at the national level and attend the national and regional conferences. Conference SAAC representatives are also  responsible for collecting feedback from the campuses, forming a conference perspective and forwarding that perspective to the national SAAC. Conference SAACs serve as the vital link between the campus and national SAACs.

A two-year letterwinner and a team captain, Goodman played in all 25 contests for the W&L men's basketball team in 2006-07, averaging 5.9 ppg and 1.6 apg.  Active on campus, Goodman initiated the creation of the newly formed "Captains Council", a group of W&L team captains who develop and improve leadership skills in the captains of varsity teams.
