ODAC Schools Ready for NCAA Play

Seven Teams Enter Postseason Tournaments

SALEM, Va. --- Seven ODAC schools are set to enter NCAA Division III postseason tournament play this week.  The conference's four champions from this past weekend's league tournaments earned automatic qualifiers into their respective tourneys, while the remaining ODAC representatives made their way into the field by at-large selections.

In field hockey, Lynchburg is the ODAC's lone representative as the conference's automatic qualifier.  The Hornets begin play on Wednesday, November 11, against Juniata College.  Game time for that contest has been set for 5:00 p.m. at Shellenberger Field in Lynchburg.  The winner moves on to face Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, this weekend.  For more information on the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament, click the links below.

Lynchburg, the ODAC's automatic qualifier, is joined by Virginia Wesleyan College in the men's soccer field.  The Hornets open with Catholic University on Saturday, November 15.  Christopher Newport University serves as the host that game as well as its own contest against Cabrini College.  The winner of both those games will play on Sunday, November 16, also at CNU.  Virginia Wesleyan travels to Salisbury University for its first round contest against the Sea Gulls.  The winner of that contest will either face Johns Hopkins University or College Misericordia.  For more information on the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament, click the links below.

Washington and Lee is the ODAC's automatic qualifier in women's soccer.  The Generals are joined by Lynchburg and Virginia Wesleyan as at-large entrants.  The Generals will host a set of first and second round contests in Lexington.  WLU opens with Christopher Newport while the Lynchburg and Catholic play in the other first round contest on Saturday.  The winners play on Sunday at Alston Parker Watt Field.  Virginia Wesleyan travels to Johns Hopkins to take on Eastern University on Saturday.  JHU hosts Cabrini in the remaining first round contest.  For more information on the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament, click the links below.

In volleyball, automatic qualifier Randolph-Macon College is the only ODAC school in the field.  The Yellow Jackets begin play on Thursday, November 12, at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.  R-MC opens with Trinity University (Texas).  The winner plays Emory University, which received a bye into the second round.  The four teams in that regional are the University of Texas-Dallas, Maryville University (Tenn.), University of Dallas and host Southwestern.  For more information on the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament, click on the links below.
