ODAC Players of the Week

FOOTBALL
Rob Look, Washington and Lee, Senior,
Linebacker
Look, a senior from Dallas, Texas,
picks up his second weekly award of the season after helping
Washington and Lee to a 49-13 win over Catholic. Look made seven
solo tackles on the way to 10 total stops that included a tackle
for a loss. He also had a pass break-up as the W&L defense held
Catholic to 254 passing yards, which was 76 yards below its
conference-leading per game average coming into the contest. The
defense combined with W&L's offense to hold the Cardinals to
just 22:27 in time of possession compared to 37:33 for the
Generals. Look leads the Generals with 83 tackles, which is fourth
in the ODAC.

FOOTBALL
Kirk Rohle, Hampden-Sydney, Senior,
Running Back
Rohle, a senior from Mechanicsville,
Va., carried the Tiger offense in the 63-49 win over Guilford with
five touchdowns and 232 all purpose yards. On the ground, the
senior back ran for four scores and 139 yards on 22 carries while
averaging 6.3 yards-per-touch. Through the air, Rohle averaged 18.6
yards-per-catch hauling in five passes for 93 yards and a score.
When the Tigers were down 14-0 early, Rohle was the first to move
the chains and find the end zone for the Tigers. The Tigers could
not get a first down in the first quarter, but Rohle then accounted
for 38 of the 51 yards needed to score early in the second quarter
to cut the deficit to 14-7. He then tacked on two more touchdowns
to end the second quarter, while giving the Tigers their first lead
of the day – one they would not give up. He continued his
work into the third quarter scoring both of Hampden-Sydney’s
touchdowns – his first on a seven yard run and second on a
43-yard reception. His longest rush came on a 41-yard run that set
up his fourth touchdown of the day.

FIELD HOCKEY
Carrie Jacobs, Randolph-Macon, Freshman,
Back
Jacobs, a freshman from Orange, Va.,
helped R-MC lock up second place and a first-round bye in the ODAC
Tournament with a hat trick against Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday.
In R-MC’s 4-1 win, Jacobs tied the game at 1-1 and then added
another first half strike to pull the Jackets ahead for good at
2-1. Jacobs capped the scoring 64 minutes in to seal the win for
R-MC. Jacobs now has a team best 12 goals on the season, which is
second in the ODAC.

GOLF
Noah Ratner, Guilford,
Junior
Ratner, a junior from Asheville, N.C.,
earns his third consecutive weekly honor after winning his third
event of the fall season. Ratner captured the O'Briant-Jensen
Memorial with a one-over 141 (65-76), just one stroke ahead of
teammate Andrew Thompson (70-72). Ratner helped the Quakers earn
their second straight team crown (594 total). Ratner's opening
round 65 set a new personal career-low and was the second lowest
round in Guilford golf history. His second round 76 mark his first
over par round (8 total) of the fall. He currently owns a 69.75 per
round average, tops in the ODAC.

MEN'S SOCCER
Mitchell Leap, Eastern Mennonite, Senior,
Forward
Leap, a senior from Harrisonburg, Va.,
picks up his third weekly award of the season. Leap continued his
scoring ways last week, providing the nail in the coffin in both of
EMU’s wins over rival Bridgewater College. In Sunday’s
2-0 ODAC Quarterfinal win, Leap put the game out of reach with a
goal with just 5:04 remaining. He knocked in a header off a corner
kick in Tuesday’s 2-0 shutout at Bridgewater. Leap now has 10
goals and 3 assists for 23 points, which is tied for second in the
ODAC (third in goals scored).

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Carmen Graves, Roanoke, Junior,
Midfielder
Graves, a junior from Christiansburg,
Va., earns her second straight weekly award after leading the
Maroons to a trio of wins last week. In the ODAC regular season
finale against the Quakers, Graves scored the only goal of a 1-0
win to help Roanoke secure the third seed in the ODAC Tournament.
On Tuesday against non-conference Mary Washington, Graves again
slotted home the game's only tally with a header in the 49th
minute. Then against GC in the ODAC Quarterfinals, Graves scored
the second goal in a 2-0 win to propel the Maroons into the ODAC
semifinals. Graves has a team-best nine goals on the season.

SWIMMING
Jocelyn Cassada, Washington and Lee,
Senior
Cassada, a senior from Charlotte,
N.C., earns her second swimming weekly award of the early season.
Cassada helped lead the Washington and Lee women's swimming team to
a 147-89 victory over Transylvania on Saturday by winning one
individual event and participating on two winning relay teams. She
took the 50-yard freestyle by completing the event in 25.83. She
also swam the lead leg on the winning 400 medley (4:12.40) and 200
free relay teams (1:43.52) as the Generals improved to 3-0 on the
season.

VOLLEYBALL
Becca Loftis, Lynchburg, Junior, Outside
Hitter
Loftis, a junior from Coventry, Conn.,
helped the Hornets to a 5-0 week to close the regular season
heading into the ODAC Tournament. Loftis collected 37 kills and hit
.400 for the week covering 15 games played. Her lowest attack
percentage in any one match was .294 as she committed just seven
errors in 75 opportunities. She also had a strong week defensively
as she collected 17 total blocks, good for 1.13 per game. Her best
outing came against Randolph College when she registered 11 kills
to go with five blocks in a 3-0 win.
