ODAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
THRU WEEK PRIOR TO: JANUARY 30, 2012

INDOOR TRACK
Johnathan Smith, Guilford, Sophomore,
Sprints
Smith, a sophomore from Conyers, Ga.,
placed fourth in the 60-meter dash at the Liberty Open with a time
of 6.92 seconds, tops among NCAA Division III contestants. He set a
Guilford school record with his effort, which also stands as the
fourth-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season. It marks the
second time Smith has posted a sub-seven second time as the ODAC
seasonal best mark this year.

INDOOR TRACK
Amy Smith, Shenandoah, Senior,
Distance
Smith a senior from Bassett, Va.,
placed third in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:44.96 at the
Thompson Invitational at the University of Delaware. She also
helped the Hornets to a ninth place showing in the 4x400-meter
relay, which set a new school record time of 4:35.45 (4:42.08).

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Donald Vaughn, Virginia Wesleyan, Senior,
Forward
Vaughn, a senior from Woodbridge, Va.,
picks up his second weekly award of the season after helping
Virginia Wesleyan to a 3-0 week. Vaughn averaged 20.3 points, 5.3
rebounds, 3.0 blocked shots and 3.0 steals in wins over
Bridgewater, Eastern Mennonite and Christopher Newport. In the
week's opening contest against BC (72-52), Vaughn poured in 20
points to go with three steals and three blocked shots. In a 91-65
win over EMU, Vaughn scored 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting in 22
minutes of action. He added six boards, three steals and three more
rejections to his stat sheet. He capped his week with 16 points,
five rebounds and three more steals and blocks as the Marlins
snapped CNU's 12-game winning streak (89-74).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Taylor Wieczorek, Randolph-Macon, Senior,
Center
Wieczorek, a senior from Grasonville,
Md., added two more doubles in a pair of Randolph-Macon conference
wins to give her five on the season. Wieczorek, who averages a
double-double during ODAC play (16.0 ppg, 10.4 rpg), helped the
Yellow Jackets to road wins at Lynchburg (79-67) and Virginia
Wesleyan (73-66). Against LC, she dropped in 23 points to go with
11 rebounds, six of which came via the offensive glass. She was
8-of-16 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line. At VWC, Wieczorek
shot 8-of-12 from the field and 1-of-2 from the stripe for 17
points paired with 15 boards. Overall, Wieczorek is averaging 14.3
points and 9.3 rebounds.

SWIMMING
Lizzy Buckley, Randolph-Macon,
Senior
Buckley, a senior from Springfield,
Va., led the Yellow Jackets to a 157-103 victory over Catholic on
senior day in Ashland. She picked up three wins on the afternoon to
lead her team in her final home meet. She finished ahead of the
pack in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.67), the 200-yard butterfly
(2:21.81) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.63). Buckley's time in
the 200-yard free is the third-best in the ODAC this season, while
her showing in the 100-yard fly is fourth amongst league
competition.
