ODAC Players of the Week

Thru Week Prior to: November 24, 2014

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Mike Murray, Hampden-Sydney, So., Guard
Murray, a sophomore from Norfolk, Va., came up clutch in both of Hampden-Sydney's last-second victories over the weekend. In a 59-56 win over N.C. Wesleyan, Murray twice put the Tigers ahead with less than a minute to play, including the game-deciding lay-up with 16-seconds to play. He notched 16 points for the game, shooting 6-of-9 from the field with three assists. On Sunday, Murray's buzzer-beater in a 58-57 win over Mary Washington earned a spot on ESPN's top plays. With 3.3 seconds to play, Leon Hargrove intercepted UMW's in-bounds pass and gave it to Murray. The Tigers' point guard heaved up a running-one handed three-pointer that drew the back iron, went straight up and came back down straight thru for the win. Murray finished with 17 points in the game, going 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. He added four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
