Generals Lead Standings for All Three ODAC Commissioner's Cups

FOREST, Va. --- The annual fall review of the ODAC Commissioner's Cups presented by Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance features just one leader amongst the three trophies.  Washington and Lee University finds itself atop of the standings for the Dan Wooldridge Overall Champions Cup as well as the Men's Commissioner's Cup and Women's Commissioner's Cup ranks.

ODAC Commissioner's Cup Fall Results

Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance is the proud sponsor for the Dan Wooldridge Overall Champions Cup and the ODAC Men and Women's Commissioner's Cups.  Farm Bureau and the ODAC continue their partnership in focusing on the strength of the conference's student-athletes and maintaining the NCAA Division III philosophy of the complete student-athlete experience.  Aside from supporting the ODAC Commissioners' Cups, Farm Bureau is the sponsor of the ODAC's sport-by-sport scholar-athlete awards.

As determined by the ODAC Board of Directors, points for the ODAC Commissioner's Cups are based on regular-season standings in team sports and championship team finishes in individual/meet sports.  Each institution has a total number of possible points it can collect based on its sport sponsorship.  The total number of points earned is then divided by the total number of possible points to determine the rating for each institution.

Washington and Lee earned 68.5 of a possible 73.0 points towards a 0.938 rating to sit atop the Dan Wooldridge Overall Champions Cup.  The Generals' loft rating was powered by first place finishes (or a share of first place) five of the conference's seven sponsored sports in the fall.  That includes all three men's offerings -- cross country, football and soccer -- in addition to women's cross country and field hockey.  Lynchburg College sits second in the overall cup standings with a 0.746 rating, having secured 48.5 out of 65.0 possible points.  Roanoke College rounds out the top-three after racking up 44.0 of a possible 65.0 points for a 0.677 mark.

The Generals' strong showing in all three men's sports earned them a 1.000 rating towards the men's cup after collecting all 31.0 possible points based on W&L's sports sponsorship. Lynchburg and Roanoke tied with identical 0.783 ratings with each school earning 18.0-of-23.0 points possible.

In the women's cup standings, Washington and Lee secured 37.5-of-42.0 possible points and a 0.893 rating from four fall offerings. Lynchburg again holds down the second position with a 0.726 rating, powered by a first place showing in the women's soccer towards 30.5-of-42.0 possible points earned. Shenandoah University marks its first top-three showing in an ODAC commissioner's cup update since joining the conference after collecting 28.5-of-42.0 points towards a 0.679 rating.
