BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrew Chrismer, Bridgewater College
Chrismer, a junior from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, helped lead the Eagles to a 3-2 week by batting .647 and going 11-for-17.  He went 2-for 3 with three RBIs in a win over Eastern Mennonite and 6-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep against Emory & Henry.  Over the course of the week, he collected 10 RBIs and hit two homeruns to help get him a slugging percentage of 1.117.

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Bryon Mendenhall, Randolph-Macon College
Mendenhall, a freshman from Falls Church, Virginia, collected two wins for the Yellow Jackets and did not allow a single run.  Against  Emory & Henry, Mendenhall stuck out nine batters in seven innings and in a 10-2 win over Washington and Lee, he struck out five batters.  Mendenhall improved to 5-0 on the season with his two ODAC victories. 

Baseball Honor Roll

Zach Polloi, Eastern Mennonite

Slugged 1.067 and batted .600 on the week while collected two home runs and three RBIs in four games.

Brad Buchman, Guilford

Launched his tenth home run of the season while slugging .800 and batting .400 in four games.

Nick Price, Hampden-Sydney

Went 6-for-11 from the plate while notching two doubles, two runs scored, two RBIs, and two stolen bases.

Daniel Hard, Hampden-Sydney

Earned his sixth complete-game victory against EMU.  He one run on six hits and one walk while striking out five batters.

Ronnie Laurie, Lynchburg

Has a 16-game hitting streak going, while also stealing five bases and scoring seven runs.  He also broke the LC record for single season stolen bases with 27.

Joe Devlin, Lynchburg

Went 1-0 in two appearances allowing nine hits and three runs in 14 innings of action.  He also struck out five batters.

Graham Thacker, Roanoke

Notched 14 hits in five games to lead the Maroons to a 3-2 week.  Collected two doubles while scoring five runs and driving home five runners.

Barrett Henderson, Roanoke

Collected two wins for the Maroons by striking out 16 batters and allowing only six runs in 13.1 innings of play.

Charlie Hart, Randolph-Macon Batted 7-for-15, with two homeruns against Emory & Henry in a 3-2 week for the Yellow Jackets.
Phil Candle, Virginia Wesleyan Connected on eight hits in 19 at bats, which was highlighted by a 3-for-4 effort in a 3-1 win over Lynchburg.

MEN'S GOLF ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Liam McGowan, Guilford College
McGowan, a freshman from St. Andrews, Scotland, helped lead the Quakers to a 7th place finish out of fourteen teams at the Emory Spring Invitational in Stone Mountain Georgia with a 36-hole 152 (74-78), which ranked 19th among 80 competitors. His 74 was the team's lowest in the first round. 

MEN'S LACROSSE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Colin Dunn, Hampden-Sydney
Dunn, a senior defenseman from Chevy Chase, Maryland, scored four goals and notched one assist to lead Hampden-Sydney to a critical 2-0 week. On Saturday afternoon, Dunn tallied three goals, including a behind-the-head, overtime game-winner to propel the Tigers to a thrilling 13-12 extra time triumph over rival Roanoke College. In the game, Dunn also dished out an assist and picked up six ground balls, helping the Tigers end a five-game losing skid to the Maroons. On Wednesday, Dunn scored one goal, scooped three ground balls and forced three turnovers in Hampden-Sydney's 14-7 victory over host Guilford College. On the season, Dunn has registered five goals and three assists, while picking up 49 ground balls. 

Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll

Joe Dauksis, Guilford

Scored a game- and career-high three goals and picked up five ground balls in a loss to Hampden-Sydney.

Norby King, Lynchburg

Won 17-of-24 face-offs in wins against Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan.  Also collected one assist and eight groundballs on the week.

Stephen Weis, Lynchburg In two wins for the Hornets, came away with eight goals and one helper.
Austin Wernecke, Washington and Lee Picked up six groundballs and led a W&L defense that only allowed 3 goals in a win over Randolph-Macon.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Gina Valles, Roanoke College
Valles, a sophomore from South Windsor, Connecticut, scored 10 goals and had two assists once again this week to lead the Maroons to a 2-0 week in ODAC play.  Notched two goals a two groundballs in a 14-5 victory against Bridgewater and led a second half surge against Virginia Wesleyan with six goals, an assist and six groundballs, including 2-2 in free-position shots for the 15-10 win. 

Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll

Sarah Wade, Bridgewater

Notched six goals and three assists in three games for the Eagles.

Mary Hutchins, Guilford

Led the Quakers to a 2-1 week with eight goals and six assists for a team-high 14 points.

Morgan Hutchinson, Randolph-Macon

Tallied six goals and four assists in a 1-1 weeks for the Yellow Jackets.

Meredith Newman, Sweet Briar

Netted five of Sweet Briar's 11 goals in a 11-10 victory over Bridgewater.

Jillian Boyd, Virginia Wesleyan Tallied 13 points on nine goals and 4 assists while grabbing 8 groundballs to lead the Marlins to a 2-1 week. 
Colleen Evans, Washington and Lee Scored a career-high five goals in a 16-6 win over Guilford.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katie Bruce, Lynchburg College
Bruce, a freshman from Lanexa, Virginia, had a dominating week on the mound and in the batter box. In addition to going 4-0 with a 1.33 ERA in the circle, Bruce hit .500 in six starts (as the designated player when she wasn't pitching). She had an on-base percentage of .550 and a slugging mark of .833, including two walks and two home runs. She drove in a team-best 10 runs and scored eight times.

SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nicole Wade, Eastern Mennonite University
Wade, a sophomore from Madison Heights, Virginia, pitched 16 innings in three complete-game victories for the Royals.  She allowed only one earned run over that span while striking out 13 batters.  Opponents hit only .203 pitching three complete games.  Wade leads the team with a 10-1 overall record and is tied for the team lead in innings pitched (84.1). 

Softball Honor Roll

Caity Butler, Bridgewater

Helped the Eagles post a 5-1 week by hitting .417, while scoring twice and tallying 10 RBIs.

Ashley Gills, Bridgewater

Pitched 16.2 innings for the Eagles including complete-game victory over Randolph-Macon and allowed only two unearned runs on the week.

Miranda White, Eastern Mennonite

Batted .444 with three runs scored, a home run and eight RBIs in a 301 weeks for the Royals.

Kelly Guarnieri, Guilford

Connected on 10-of-17 at bats for an average of .588 including three doubles during a 4-2 week for the Quakers.

DeNina Eldridge, Guilford

Notched a 4.00 ERA while fanning 11 in 14.0 innings while limiting opponents to a .250 batting average.

Lindsay Cross, Randolph

Hit .333 for the WildCats, including a 2-for-3 performance in game two of a doubleheader against Roanoke.

Hillary Hudgins, Roanoke

Batted .529 with nine hits, three doubles and five walks in addition to scoring nine runs and driving two runners home.

Melissa Viar, Sweet Briar

Averaged .364 this week, while scoring three times and collecting one RBI.

Mandy Nixon, Virginia Wesleyan

Hit 8-for-10, including one double and one triple, in a 4-2 week for the Marlins. 

Brittaney Brown, Virginia Wesleyan

Struck out 19 batters, bringing her season total to 109, which makes her only the sixth pitcher in VWC history to surpass the 100-K plateau in a season.

MEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
William Moss, Hampden-Sydney College
Moss, a sophomore from Fredericksburg, Virginia, led the Tigers to a 3-0 close to the conference slate with several solid performances. Moss helped Hampden-Sydney to a strong 7-2 win over regional No. 16 Roanoke College with a 6-0, 6-1 singles win over Maroons' top hitter Hart Callahan, and earned an 8-6 doubles victory alongside teammate Rich Pugh at No. 1 doubles. Moss dispatched of Randolph-Macon No. 1 Thomas Hanes 6-1, 6-0 after teaming up with freshman Pugh to top the Jackets' pair of Hanes and Dan Doherty, 8-1. On April 9, Moss and Pugh defeated Virginia Wesleyan's Steven Wright and Devin Crosby 8-6 before Moss ousted Wright in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.

Mike Muir, Guilford

Went 1-0 at #5 singles against Averett, 2-0 at #4 singles against Bridgewater and Lynchburg and 1-1 in doubles play for the week.

Jay Duimstra, Lynchburg

Went 1-1 in #3 singles and 2-0 in #3 doubles to lead the Hornets to a 1-1 week.

John Best, Randolph-Macon

Topped Randolph with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #2 singles and an 8-0 win at #2 doubles.

WOMEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Hilary Teeter, Bridgewater College
Teeter, a senior from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 at No. 1 doubles this past week, all against conference competition. She won all three singles matches in straight sets, losing a total of just six games. In doubles, Teeter and partner Diana Ricker lost just two games in three matches.

Women's Tennis Honor Roll

Megan Fair, Guilford

Helped lead the Quakers to a 3-0 week by yielding only five points in six sets for the week.

Whitney Robinson, Randolph-Macon

Led R-MC to a 2-0 week going 2-0 in #4 singles and 2-0 in #2 doubles.

Virginia Edahl, Sweet Briar

Won four of eight matches at #1 singles and #1 doubles for the Vixens.

Meredith Willett, Virginia Wesleyan

Led the Marlins while going 2-0 at #4 singles and 2-0 at #2 doubles in wins over Sweet Briar and Randolph.

MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Melvin Queen, Bridgewater College
Queen, a senior from Chesapeake, Virginia,  won the 100 meters, 200 meters and ran on the winning 4x100 relay team to lead Bridgewater to the team title at the 18-team Messiah Invitational. Queen won the 100 in a time of 10.79, missing the NCAA provisional mark by 1/100th of a second. He won the 200 in 21.77 to set a new Bridgewater College record, this time missing the NCAA provisional mark by 2/100ths of a second. In the relay the Eagles won with a time of 42.02, again missing the NCAA provisional mark by 2/100ths of a second. 

Men's TrackHonor Roll

Chris Word, Lynchburg

Won the 400-meter dash in 48.22 at the Lynchburg Track Classic, which provisionally qualifies him for nationals.

David Paco, Virginia Wesleyan

Set four VWC records in the high jump (5-9), 4x400 (3:34.01), 400 hurdles (57.76) and 110 hurdles (17.99).

Billy Billington, Washington and Lee Won the hammer throw at the Lynchburg Track Classic with a throw of 47.29m, a new W&L record.

WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Dominique McCoy, Roanoke College
McCoy, a sophomore from Williamsburg, Virginia, is a provisional national qualifier in the long jump, which she won at the Lynchburg Track Classic with a jump of 18'5".  She also placed third in the triple jump with a jump if 36'7" and finished sixth in the 400 hurdles. 

Women's Track Honor Roll

Samantha Phillips, Bridgewater

Was apart of the 4x100 relay team that set a BC record of 48.54, which provisionally qualifies them for nationals.

Michelle Leaman, Eastern Mennonite

Broke the school record in the 100 meter hurdles with a  time of 14.94 and in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.90.

Kyra Richardson, Lynchburg

Was apart of the 4x100 relay team that set the Lynchburg school record of 49.99.  Also ran a 26.29 in the 100-meter dash.

Elizabeth Webb, Washington and Lee

Was the second collegiate finisher (top DIII) in the 1500m at the UVA Invitational with a time of 4:40.37, which is a new W&L school record.
