GC Enters as Top Seed, Vies for 11th Crown

SALEM, Va. --- The 2009 ODAC Golf Championship will take place April 18-20 at the Bay Creek Resort & Club in Cape Charles, Virginia.  Guilford College enters the tournament as the top seed looking to claim its 11th overall ODAC crown.  Looking to upend the Quakers are Bridgewater College and Washington and Lee University, who sit just below Guilford in the current team standings.

Bridgewater hits the championship links with a season average of 306.6 strokes in 18 rounds of play this year.  Sophomore Mike Redwood leads the Eagles' charge, boasting a 75.5 average.  Another Eagle to keep an eye on is sophomore Nick Dean who is carrying a 76.7 average into the championship.

Washington and Lee, the reigning ODAC Champion, brings a 310.6 season average in 16 rounds to Bay Creek's Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer Signature Courses this weekend.  The Generals to watch include juniors Robert Womble (75.5), Brad Watts (77.3) and Joe Gibson (77.8)
