NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. --- The ODAC's strong representation at the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships persisted thru the final holes of the four-day event with Guilford College highlighting the league's contingent with a third place showing. The Quakers finished seven strokes back of the lead with Illinois Wesleyan University hoisting the walnut & bronze prize.

Hampden-Sydney College put together a strong showing in placing 12th overall. Washington and Lee University just missed the cut following Wednesday's second round, coming up two strokes short of the advancement line.

Individually, GC's James Mishoe led all ODAC players -- including a trio of Quakers in the top-10 -- with a fifth place overall finish at 4-over 292 (75-72-72-73). Sam Goldenring from Williams College claimed individual medalist honors at 3-under 285 (69-74-70-72). He was one of just two players to finish 72 holes at Keene Trace Golf Club under par.

Guilford, winners of the 2002 and 2005 Division III crowns, posted their fourth straight top-eight finish including three straight top-five showings with a 29-over 1181 (296-286-300-299). Along with Mishoe, Josh Hill and Addison Manring placed among the top-nine. The last time the Quakers did that, they won the 2005 crown.

Hill tied for sixth at 5-over 293 (77-70-72-74), while Manring chimed in tied for ninth at 6-over 294 (73-72-72-77). Louis Lambert tied for 53rd at 19-over 307 (80-72-81-74) and Jack Lee tied for 70th at 25-over 313 (75-78-83-77).

Hampden-Sydney posted the lowest 72-hole score in five appearances in the national tournament at 70-over 1222 (297-315-309-301). Allen Smith shot an H-SC low 18-over 306 (73-80-81-72) to finish tied for 49th. Bruce Shober (71-80-80-78) and Adam Hade (77-78-75-79) tied for 61st position at 21-over 309, while Hunter Martin tied for 68th at 24-over 312 (76-85-79-72). John Hatcher Ferguson capped the Tigers' contingent tied for 72nd at 26-over 314 (79-77-75-83).

Washington and Lee posted a 46-over 622 (312-310) over its two team rounds. The Generals played early on Wednesday and were forced to watch to see if its score would move inside the cut line that put thru the top-18 teams. Two strokes proved the difference in keep W&L from moving.

The Generals, however, were represented by reigning Division III champion Brian Peccie as an individual qualifier for the final two rounds. He tied for 28th at 13-over 301 (75-73-79-74).
