ODAC Athletes of the Week | Golf

FOREST, Va. --- The final report for week 11 of ODAC action features a pair of golfers that performed well against NCAA Division I talent at their respective events. Washington and Lee University golfers Megan Kanaby and Pierce Robinson take home this week's ODAC Golfer of the Week honors.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Megan Kanaby | Washington and Lee | So.
Kanaby, a sophomore from Chapel Hill, N.C., put together a strong 54-hole showing at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate hosted by the College of William & Mary. Washington and Lee finished ninth out of 12 teams and Kanaby tied for 16th overall in a field of 66 golfers exclusively from NCAA Division I institutions. Kanaby posted a 21-over 237 following 54 holes on the par 72 River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. She opened with rounds 78 and 82 before closing with a 77 to tie with Julia Calomiris from Towson University and defeat 49 other Division I competitors. W&L's 54-hole 990 score featured rounds of 336, 340 and 314 and put the Generals ahead of D-I programs from Presbyterian College, St. Francis University (Pa.), and Mt. Saint Mary's (Md.).

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Pierce Robinson | Washington and Lee | So.
Robinson, a sophomore from Kings Mountain, N.C., helped lead Division III's 11th-ranked team to ninth of 16 teams at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate hosted by the College of William & Mary. Robinson was one of 82 players in the field which, other than Washington and Lee, featured exclusively NCAA Division I talent. Robinson tied for 24th overall at 11-over 221 following 54 holes on the par 70 layout set to 6,799 yards at the Golden Horseshoe Williamsburg Golf Course in Williamsburg, Va. He opened with a pair of 73's to sit at 6-over par following 36 holes. He closed with a 5-over 75 to tie with three other players at 11-over and defeat 55 other Division I competitors. The Generals' ninth place team showing feature rounds of 292, 302, and 300 to finish at 54-over 894. W&L tied with Longwood University and defeated teams from Radford University, St. Bonaventure University, Georgetown University, Saint Joseph's University, and St. Francis University (Pa.). Robinson is currently the eighth-ranked player in Division III joining top-ranked James Mishoe from Guilford College as ODAC players in the national top-10.
