NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. --- Two teams and three individual players from the ODAC's contingent of competitors finished in the top-10 of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship as the tournament came to a close with fourth round play at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky. Two ODAC stars also picked up major individual honors at the close the championship.

Guilford College finished seventh overall, closing the fourth day with a 2-under 286 to post a 12-over score of 1,164 for the tournament. Washington and Lee University, which needed to win a three-hole playoff on Wednesday to make the cut, tied for ninth overall with Illinois Wesleyan University at 21-over 1,173. The Generals fired their second 1-under team round of 287 on Friday.

Carnegie Mellon University scorched the 6,974 yard layout on the Champion Trace course with a 9-under 279, spurring their Tartans to the first team title in school history at 1-under 1,151 for the tournament, six strokes clear of second place Piedmont University.

Individually, Guilford's Sam Davidson -- the ODAC individual medalist -- and Averett University's Max Pettersson finished the tournament where they started, tied for fourth overall at 5-under 283. They were joined in the top-10 by the ODAC Golfer of the Year Michael Vick from Guilford, who tied for ninth with four other players at 1-under 287. Davidson and Pettersson both carded 3-under rounds of 69 on Friday, while Vick posted a 2-under 70.

Vick and Pettersson enjoyed additional awards. Vick was tabbed as Division III Ping First Team All-American. Pettersson, who earned ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels last month, named the recipient of the 2023 NCAA Division III Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine.

Piedmont's Josh Hebrink chased down Christopher Newport University's Alex Price and Robb Kinder for the individual title. Price and Kinder finished roughly an hour ahead of Hebrink with scores of 6-under 282 following rounds of 67 and 71 on Friday, respectively.
