Ferguson, a senior from Rocky Mount, Va., put together his lowest 36-hole effort of the season in leading Hampden-Sydney in a strong field at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate. Ferguson finished in solo sixth position at 1-under par 143 following two rounds on the par 72 layout set to 6,979 yards at the Wynlakes Golf & Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. He opened with an even-par 72 and then carded a 1-under 71 to close the tournament three strokes back of the eventual winners. He tied for first in the field in par-3 scoring (2.75) and posted seven birdies over his 36-hole effort. Nationally 20th-ranked Hampden-Sydney finished third overall at 17-over 593 (299-294). Ferguson, ranked 70th in Division III by Golfstat, is seventh in the ODAC with a 74.9 per round average covering 16 rounds of competition. Tigers are second in the ODAC with a 299.9 average.
