R-MC's NCAA Run Halted by St. Mary's

Hot Shooting Keys Seahawks Victory

ST. MARY'S, Md. --- The Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball team saw its season come to end Saturday night with a 68-53 road loss to St. Mary's of Maryland in the Second-Round of the 2011 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.

The ODAC Champion Yellow Jackets finish the season 25-5 overall.   The Jackets have now won 20 plus games in four consecutive seasons for the first time in school history and reach the 20 win mark for the fifth time in the last six years. 

The seven member R-MC senior class of Brandon BraxtonJordan BrownBilly CampionDanny JonesEric PughThomas Scheeler and Kevin Voelkel finish their careers with 91 total wins, which ranks tied second all-time with the Class of 2004 and one shy of the all-time record held by the class of 2005.

SMC (24-5) made 27-of-55 for the night from the floor and fashioned three players in double figures, led by Sam Burum's game-high 15 points.  Alex Franz chipped in with 13 points, while Christian Macauley had 12 points in the victory.

R-MC got a team-high 12 points from Lamar Giggetts off the bench, while Brown had nine points and Jones added eight.   The Yellow Jackets made 16-of-39 shots from the floor, including just 1-of-11 from beyond the three-point line.
