FORT WAYNE, Ind. --- Randolph-Macon College is one step closer to its first Division III national championship as the Yellow Jackets ran away from Marietta College on the way to an 81-63 victory in the first semifinal of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament final series on Friday evening. R-MC will play for the NCAA's walnut & bronze prize at 6:00 p.m. ET Saturday against Elmhurst College in Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Saturday's season-ending event marks the second time the R-MC men's basketball team plays for a national title as it looks to become the first squad in school history to lift a NCAA championship trophy. The men's basketball team played for the 1977 Division II crown against Chattanooga.

The Yellow Jackets will look to become the second team in ODAC history to win a men's basketball national title. Virginia Wesleyan University (then Virginia Wesleyan College) won the 2006 championship with a 59-56 victory over Wittenberg University and then finished as the runner-up to Amherst College in 2007. Hampden-Sydney College has also played in the NCAA's showcase event. The Tigers finished as runners-up in 1999 following a 76-75 double-overtime loss to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Randolph-Macon (32-1) will square off with Elmhurst (27-6) in this season's final game. The Blue Jays defeated Wabash College (28-4), 90-68, in Friday night's second semifinal. The contest will be televised on CBS Sports Network and streamed on NCAA.com.
