Vaughn, a sophomore from Woodbridge, Virginia, was named to the All-Tournament team at the Roger Taylor Classic at North Carolina Wesleyan College after guiding VWC to victories over Greensboro College (80-72) and host NCWC (78-68). He scored a total of 44 points, pulled down 17 rebounds, blocked nine shots, and had four steals in the two games, highlighted by a career-high 25 points and six blocks against NCWC. He started off the season with a 16-point eight-rebound effort in an 81-66 win over Averett. He blocked two shots and had two steals.
