Amponsah, a senior from Woodbridge, Va., was named the MVP of the Equinox Classic hosted by Haverford College.  Amponsah averaged 26.5 points to help Roanoke open the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2007-08 campaign.  He opened his senior campaign with 19 points, four rebounds and two steals in the Maroons 87-82 victory over Swarthmore College.  He followed that effort with a 34-point explosion in a 75-72 triumph over host Haverford.  He was 12-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-5 from beyond the arc.  He added three rebounds, four steals and one important blocked shot in the final seconds to help clinch RC's win.  Amponsah, last year's ODAC scoring champion, is just 93 points from becoming the 34th player in Roanoke history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
