Ramirez, a sophomore from Palmyra, Va., helped lead the Maroons
to a 97-87 win over Averett University, which also snapped
Roanoke's three-game losing streak. Ramirez scored 19 of his
team-high 27 points in the first half as he buried 6-of-7 shots
from the field including a 5-for-5 showing from beyond the arc.
He finished the contest 9-of-12 from the field and 4-of-6
from the foul line to account for his career-high scoring output.
He also notched a game-high seven assists to go with three
rebounds and a pair of steals. Ramirez, who averages 11.5
points per game, is currently third in the ODAC with 42 assists
(5.3 apg) through eight games played.
