Zack Burnett, Lynchburg, Sr., Guard

Burnett, a senior from Fairfax, Va., shot 61.3-percent from the field in averaging 27.0 points per game and helping Lynchburg to a 1-1 week. He canned five three-pointers and went 9-of-17 from the field on the way to 24 points in a 72-60 setback to Guilford. He added seven rebounds and came away with a steal. In a 97-63 win at Bridgewater, Burnett exploded for 30 points on 10-of-14 from the field. He connected on 6-of-8 from downtown, giving him an 11-of-18 showing from beyond the arc for the week. He also made all four of his free throws and pulled down four rebounds with two assists and two steals against BC. For the season, Burnett is second in the ODAC in points scored (385) and scoring average (20.3). He leads the conference in three-pointers made (61) and is second in field goals made (131).

Men's Basketball Weekly Notes

- Eastern Mennonite forward Jerome Jones registered a career-high 32 points with 10 coming in overtime in the Royals 101-95 win over Shenandoah. He was 7-of-14 from the field including 5-of-8 from deep and made all seven of his foul shots. He added five boards and four assists in that contest.  He chipped in 12 points with seven rebounds in a 77-66 setback to Roanoke.

- Guilford forward Dominique Henderson helped the Quakers to their best start since 2009-10 (16-3, 9-1) with two more wins last week. He notched a game and career-best 26 points on 9-of-14 from the field and 4-of-6 from deep in a 72-60 win at Lynchburg. He added seven boards to his line. In an 83-66 victory over Virginia Wesleyan, he scored 11 points with four rebounds and three assists.

- Montese Adams registered the first double-double of the season for Randolph-Macon with 22 points and 11 rebounds in the Yellow Jackets 76-57 win at Virginia Wesleyan. He followed that with 10 points and seven rebounds in a 65-57 win over Washington and Lee.

- Roanoke guard John Fitchett put up 19 points with three boards and a blocked shot in the Maroons 77-65 win over Emory & Henry. He then grabbed a double-double in a 77-66 win at Eastern Mennonite, notched 15 points with 12 rebounds and another blocked shot.

- Shenandoah guard Dalon McHugh registered a new career-high 18 points with four-made three-pointers in the Hornets 101-95 overtime loss at Eastern Mennonite. He chipped in three assists in that game. He then registered 11 points at Randolph, including the game-deciding bucket with five-seconds to play for a 65-62 road win over the WildCats. Headded five boards, and two steals to his line.
