Ryan Doyle, Guilford, So., Midfielder/Defender

Doyle, a sophomore from Clayton, N.C., picked the right time to score his first two goals of the season as both proved game-winners to help Guilford run its winning streak to five straight games. The Quakers and Shenandoah played to a scoreless draw thru 90 minutes of regulation and the first of two 10-minute overtime periods before Doyle powered a header past the Hornets' keeper off a feed from Rodrigo Gudino. The tally came 3:37 before the end of the second extra frame for a 1-0 overtime home victory. Doyle was again the hero late-on in a 3-2 victory at Ferrum. The Quakers enjoyed a 2-0 lead thru the midpoint of the second half before the Panthers turned the tables with scores in the 66th and 77th minutes. Doyle came thru a little over three minutes later for his second game-winner of the week, this one off a feed from Joenn Lanza in the 80th minute. Guilford is now 5-2-1 overall and in ODAC play. GC owns the sixth seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament and travels to Randolph-Macon College on Tuesday for quarterfinal action.
