W&L's White Competes in NCAA Tennis

Generals' Standout Falls in Round of 16

CLAREMONT, Calif. --- Washington and Lee sophomore Hayden White (Baltimore, Md./Towson) was eliminated in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Division III Singles Championship on Friday at Pomona-Pitzer.

White defeated Jeremy Polster of Kenyon College by a score of 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 in the Round of 32, before falling to third-seeded Brian Pybas of UC Santa Cruz, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6, in the Round of 16.

A two-time All-ODAC First Team choice, White competed in his second straight NCAA individual tournament.  White finished his sophomore campaign with a 19-5 overall singles record and a 20-4 doubles mark.  He was ranked seventh in the latest Atlantic South Region rankings by the ITA.
