Named Second Team Academic All-America
LYNCHBURG, Va. --- Senior outfielder Brittany
Allsop (Milford, CT/Johnathan Law) recently earned Second-Team ESPN
the Magazine Academic All-American honors.
Allsop currently boasts a 3.99 cumulative grade point average while
majoring in math and minoring in business. This season, she was
named the LC Senior Award winner, the LC Scholar Athlete of the
Year, the ODAC Scholar Athlete of the Year, First-Team Academic-All
District, and First-Team All-ODAC. As a junior and sophomore,
Allsop was a second-team All-ODAC and All-Region performer, earned
CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades, and was an Academic
All-American in her junior year.
This season, Allsop led the team with a batting average of .374, 50
runs, 52 hits, 24 walks, and 17 stolen bases. She also registered
six doubles, two triples, three homeruns, and 20 RBI with a
slugging percentage of .511 and an on-base percentage of .473.
Allsop also had 15 multi-hit games, which was the higest on the
squad.
