Kayla Dost, Virginia Wesleyan, So, Third Base

Dost, a sophomore from Bristow, Va., helped the Marlins to a 3-1 week that included a sweep of Emory & Henry and a split with 15th-ranked Emory University.  Dost reached base at least twice in all four games played, helping her towards a .714 on-base percentage.  She hit 7-for-11 (.636) with two home runs, seven RIB and five runs scored.  She also walked three times.  He slugging percentage for the week was a robust 1.182.  One of Dost's homers was a two-run blast in the Marlins' 9-5 win over Emory.  She had three RBI as part of a 3-for-3 day in game two against E&H.  Dost is currently batting .419 on the season, second on the squad.

Softball Player Honor Roll

Brea Hinegardner, Bridgewater (Sr., 1B - Woodstock, Va.)
Hinegardner went 7-for-12 (.583) with three homers, a double, 10 RBI and five runs scored in a 2-2 week for BC.  She had two homers and six RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Sweet Briar (12-0, 16-2).

Brooke Hensley, Eastern Mennonite (Sr., SS - Elkton, Va.)
Hensley went 3-for-5 with two RBI and three walks in EMU's doubleheader setback to Guilford over the weekend.  She was perfect in 11 total chances from shortstop, maintaining her 1.000 fielding percentage thru 44 chances.

Cynthia Hayes, Guilford (Sr., IF - Seagrove, N.C.)
Hayes strengthened her grip on the ODAC batting lead (.600) by going 11-for-18 with 13 runs scored and a pair of doubles in a 5-1 week for GC.  She also walked three times towards a .682 OBP.  She had two hits in five games last week.  Her school-record hitting streak stands at 30 games.

Hunter Glave, Randolph (Fr., 1B - Ashland, Va.)
Glave continued her hot hitting, going 6-for-11 (.545) with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored in the WildCats' 3-1 week.  She hit safely in each game and walked five total times towards a .688 OBP.

Jenna Best, Randolph-Macon (So., 1B - Chesapeake, Va.)
Best led R-MC with four RBI and a 4-for-7 showing at the plate in the Yellow Jackets' doubleheader sweep of Emory & Henry.  She had two hits in each game, and also won game one from the circle.
