Cassetty Howerin, Virginia Wesleyan, Fr., Catcher/Infield

Howerin, a freshman from Dover, Del., helped the Marlins to a 6-0 week with three doubleheader sweeps of ODAC teams.  Howerin hit a blistering .722 as she went 13-for-18 with three doubles and a triple.  She drove in seven runs and scored 10 times while also drawing a pair of walks.  She had at least two hits in all six games, adding a 3-for-4 effort in game one against Randolph-Macon.  She had one RBI in all but one contest, driving in two each in wins over Randolph (9-3) and Shenandoah (11-1).  She finished the week with a .722/.750/1.000 slash line.  For the season, Howerin owns a team-best .467 batting average, which ranks seventh in the ODAC.

Softball Player Honor Roll

Brooke Throckmorton, Bridgewater (Jr., OF - Mechanicsville, Va.)
Throckmorton hit. 500 over six games played last week.  She belted a pair of homers and drove in seven runs while scoring seven herself.  She homered in both ends of the Eagles' doubleheader sweep at Sweet Briar.

Aislinn Lucas, Eastern Mennonite (Jr., OF - Grottoes, Va.)
Lucas hit .722 (13-for-18) in the Royals' 3-3 week, including four multi-hit games.  She was 4-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and four runs scored in a 14-12 win over Guilford.  She had a hit in her only official at bat in game two, going 5-for-5 in the series with an additional walk.  She finished with six RBI and seven runs scored on the week.

Leah Elswick, Emory & Henry (Fr., OF - Raven, Va.)
Elswick went 11-for-24 to help the Wasps to a 7-1 week that included sweeps of BC and EMU.  She finished with four doubles, a triple, a homer and nine RBI with four runs scored.  She also stole two bases and walked twice.  She had a pinch-hit grand slam to give E&H the lead and eventual 6-5 win over Bluefield.  She was 4-for-4 with two doubles and a stolen basen in a game two win over BC.  She was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI in a game one win over EMU.

Taylor Boyd, Guilford (So., SS - Franklinton, N.C.)
Boyd went 12-for-20 in the Quakers 4-2 week that included a sweep of Shenandoah.  She hit safely in all six games with five multi-hit efforts.  She had six RBI and seven runs while walking five times on the week.  She had four RBI in game two (16-3) against SU.

Danielle Powell, Lynchburg (Jr., 3B/OF - Vinton, Va.)
Powell helped LC to a 3-3 week after going 10-for-23 with a homer and four RBI.  She also scored three runs.  Her homer came as part of a 3-for-4 day in a loss (9-3) to DePauw.  She was 3-for-5 with two RBI in a loss (4-3) to Mary Washington.

Hunter Glave, Randolph (So., 1B - Ashland, Va.)
Glave was 8-for-18 in the WildCats 3-3 week.  Seven of her hits went for extra bases as she had four homers and three doubles to go with 10 RBI and six runs scored.  She also walked three times.  She had three homers in a split at R-MC, hitting two in game one.  She had three RBI in both games.

Madison Gilman, Randolph-Macon (Jr., C - Glen Allen, Va.)
Gilman was 7-for-17 in the Yellow Jackets' 3-3 week.  She had two doubles and six RBI with two runs scored for the week.  She had two hits including a double and two RBI in a game one loss to Randolph.
