Hanna Hull, Virginia Wesleyan, Fr., Pitcher

Hull, a freshman from Chesterfield, Va., added three more wins and a save as she appeared and figured in the decision in all four games for Virginia Wesleyan last week. Hull opened with six solid frames in an 11-5 victory at Emory & Henry. She gave up four runs on three hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. She came back in the second game of the series and shut the door for the final two innings to preserve a 3-2 win and earn her first save of the season. Hull was back as the starter in her next outing at Guilford. She went the distance in allowing just three hits in a 3-1 victory. She gave up one run while walking three and fanning 13 for her ninth game with 10 or more strikeouts. Hull again came back in the second game, pitching an inning as Virginia Wesleyan went to extra frames before exploding for a 13-4 victory. For the season, Hull leads the ODAC with a 15-1 record and is second with a 0.60 earned run average. She has struck out a conference-best 164 batters in 93.0 innings in the circle. Opponents are hitting just .121 off her, which is third in the league.

Sydney Reath, Eastern Mennonite (So.)
Reath went 3-1 in four appearances for the Royals last week. She twirled a three-hit shutout to defeat Shenandoah, 3-0, also allowing a walk. She did not strike out a batter in controlling the Hornets. She then defeated Randolph, 6-5, giving up five runs (two earned) on nin hits with three walks and five strikeouts in her second complete game of the week. She went the distance a third time in a 6-0 shutout of Lynchburg, giving up two hits with a walk and fanning a pair. She took the loss in the second game, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits with a walk and a K in a 4-3 setback.

Emily Kendrick, Emory & Henry (Jr.)
Kendrick went 3-1 in five outings last week with pair of complete games. She defeated Randolph, 5-2, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits with a walk and five K's in a full seven frames. She got the win in game two, 4-3, with 2.2 scoreless innings, surrendering two hits. She shook off an 11-5 loss to #3 Virginia Wesleyan by tossing a one-hit shutout against #15 Randolph-Macon, fannining nine in a 1-0 win. She added four shutout innings in the second game against R-MC in a 7-6 loss.

Makayla Carver, Guilford (So.)
Carver went 2-1 in three starts for Guilford last week. She earned an 8-3 win over Roanoke after giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits with a walk and a strikeout in seven full frames. She picked up a shortened complete-game win in a 9-1 triumph over #15 Randolph-Macon, giving up one run on four hits with two walks and a strikeout. Her loss came in a solid effort to #3 Virginia Wesleyan as she gave up three runs (one earned) on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Candace Whittemore, Randolph-Macon (So.)
Whittemore went 3-1 with a save in five appearances last week. She one-hit Mary Washington in nearly throwing a perfect game, striking out five in a 7-0 shutout. She save the second game, 4-2, allowing one hit and a walk with a strikeout in two innings. She earned a complete game win over Guilford, 8-3, giving up three runs on seven hits with four walks and six strikeouts. She took the loss in game one against Emory & Henry, giving up one run on four hits with five strikeouts in six innings. She came back for a complete game win in game thru, battling thru eight innings as she gave up six runs (five earned) on 10 hits with five walks and three strikeouts in a 7-6 victory.

Elizabeth Everette, Shenandoah (Fr.)
Everette went 2-0 in four appearances last week that included two starts. She opened with a five inning complete game win in a 10-1 decision at Gettysburg. She gave up one run on five hits with four strikeouts. She tossed 2.2 innings of relief in a 4-2 in game two against the Bullets, and then took to the circle for 1.2 frames in a 7-1 loss at Roanoke. She capped her week with a one-hit shutout in a five-inning shortended affair in a 26-0 victory over Sweet Briar. She also a Vixen and struck out five.
