McNeil, a sophomore from Winston-Salem, N.C., opened the season with a stellar outing in the circle to lead the Quakers to 9-0 five-inning shortened win over Mary Baldwin. McNeil worked all five frames and surrendered just one hit with two walks and 11 strikeouts. She fanned at least two batters in each inning and whiffed the side in the fourth frame.
