Tate, a freshman from Boones Mill, Va., picks up his first career ODAC weekly honor after helping Roanoke defeat Randolph-Macon, 160-102, in a dual meet last week. Tate won three individual events and helped his teammates capture a relay. Each of his times from individual wins against Randolph-Macon rank #2 in the ODAC top times list. He stopped the watches first in both the 100-yard and 200-yard butterflies at 0:53.44 and 1:57.50, respectively. He added a victory in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:02.15. Tate was joined by teammates Nick McGrath, Brian Grimmett, and David Adarkwah in winning the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:18.26, which is just off their previously established ODAC third-fastest time.
