Dalton Jobe, Washington and Lee, Fy.

Jobe, a first-year from Henrico, Va., went record-hunting at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational as he helped lead Washington and Lee to second place in the eight-team field. Jobe set a new ODAC overall record in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:02.19 to win the event. That time is 15th fastest in NCAA Division III this season, less than a second off the NCAA "B-cut" standard. Jobe finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:39.37. He was better during the prelims of the event when he posted a time of 4:37.05, which is the fastest in the conference and 20th in the country. He added a tie for fifth in the 100-yard freestyle in 0:46.67, which would rank inside the ODAC's top-five. Jobe also swam on a pair of relay teams. He swam anchor on the second place 400-yard freestyle relay of Charles Bryar, Baxter Smelzer, and Matt Snyder. They posted a time of 3:05.81, tops in the conference and 10th in Division III. Jobe and Matt Fritz, Todd Echols, and Thomas Denton finished third in the 400-yard medley relay in 3:26.11, which is also #1 in the league and 17th nationally.
