Cuttaia, a senior from Eden, N.C., helpe the Quakers open their ODAC schedule with a 77-50 victory over Bridgewater. Cuttaia posted a game-best and career-high 21 points as she was 9-of-13 from the field including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. She added six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal to her stat line. Cuttaia currently averages 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. She leads the ODAC with 10 blocked shots.
ODAC teams played just 11 games during the
week of Thanksgiving, with a with all but two schools opening
conference play. Eastern Mennonite, Guilford, Randolph-Macon,
Roanoke and Virginia Wesleyan all began their league slates with
victories ... Bridgewater played just
once over the break, faling to Guilford (77-50). Cassidy Burkholded
notched a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards. Jessi Strom
led in scoring with 11 markers. Turnovers hurt the Eagles as they
committed 20 against GC ... Eastern
Mennonite got a non-conference win over Mary Baldwin
(102-38) before topping E&H (76-56) in its ODAC opener. Five
players scored in double figures against MBC, with all 14 Royals
that played seeing at least 11 minutes of court time. Jess
Rheinheimer went for 10 points and 10 rebounds against the Wasps.
Sa'Mone Moore led EMU with 17 points, hitting 4-of-8 frmo deep.
Myneshia Walker was 4-of-5 from downtown towards 12 points off the
bench ... Emory & Henry dropped its
only contest of the week to EMU (76-56). Karina Farr recorded a
double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Amanda Stanley added
10 points off the bench
... Guilford topped Bridgewater (77-50)
to open its league schedule. Kali Cuttaia led with 21 points, six
boards, two blocks and two assists. Anais Weatherly went for 12
points and 10 boards, giving her double-doubles in 4-of-5 games
played this season ... Hollins lost its
ODAC opener to Randolph-Macon (85-54) in its lone game of the week.
Taylor Catron led with 10 points and seven rebounds. Turnovers were
the story of HU as the squad committed 21 for the game
... Lynchburg fell to CNU (71-56) in its
only game of the week. Turnovers also hurt LC as the Hornets gave
it away 26 times costing them 21 points. Shannon Allan led with 20
points, while Chaney Forbush notched a double-double with 11 points
and 14 boards. Sammi Goldsmith went for 15 points ...
Randolph went 1-1
last week, falling to Roanoke (65-61) before topping Gallaudet
(51-41) the next day. Abigail Bullins hit five three-pointers
towards 21 points against the Maroons. Allie Druffel notched 13
rebounds. Against GU, Korin Harris poured in 18 points off the
bench, adding seven boards. She was 9-of-13 from the field
... Randolph-Macon stayed unbeaten (5-0)
with its win at Hollins (85-54). Hannah Livermon buried 4-of-8 from
deep towards a game-best 22 points. She added four steals. Sarah
Parsons also hit four three-points (4-of-6) towards 19 points.
Katie Anderson registered her fourth double-double in five games
with 13 points and 11 rebounds
... Roanoke topped Randolph (65-61)
before losing for the first time this season at Ferrum (73-58).
Tatum McKee went for 12 points and 10 boards for her third
double-double against Randolph. Cary Beahm and Marki Beckwith each
posted 13 points. Beah led against Ferrum with 18 points and six
boards ... Shenandoah fell to Marymount
(49-44) in its only game last week. Breya Wallace led with 12
points, while Holly Chittenden added eight points, seven boards and
five assists ... Virginia Wesleyan went
1-1 with a win over Washington and Lee (73-63) before falling at
Stevenson (69-46). Andrea Paphites was 11-of-12 from the stripe
towards 20 points against W&L. Brittany Glasco added 16 points
and seven rebounds. Nancy Kelly added 13 markers. At Stevenson,
Crystal Strother led with nine points. Miscues plagued the Marlins
as they turned the ball over 31 times ... Washington
and Lee lost to Virginia Wesleyan (73-63) in its only
outing of the week. Paige Corvino led with 14 points off the bench
as she hit 4-of-6 from deep. Emily Perszyk and Annie Gauf each
scored 10 points and combined to hit five three-pointers.
