Washington and Lee to Host NCAA Second Round Matchup

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Washington and Lee University will be the lone squad to represent the ODAC in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on www.ncaa.com Sunday evening.  The Generals earn a bye thru the first round of play and will host Sewanee in the second round.

The women's lacrosse tournament begins this coming weekend with all 38 teams in action in first and second round play on May 9-10.  Second-round winners will advance to one of four regional sites May 16-17.  Winners from the four regionals will advance to the national semifinals and finals, May 23-24. All games, except the semifinals and final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. The finals will be conducted at PPL Park in Philadelphia, Pa. 

Washington and Lee (15-2) is one of 26 teams in the field to advance thru the first round.  The Generals earned their NCAA spot via the ODAC's automatic bid after winning the conference tournament.  W&L welcomes Sewanee (17-1) to Lexington, which received an at-large selection to the field out of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
