INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Lynchburg College, winners of the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference women’s soccer championship, received the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Tournament. The tournament bracket was released this afternoon and the Hornets will travel to Emory University for regional play. LC will square off against Centre College in its opening game on Saturday.

Forty-three conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2013 championship. One team was selected from Pool B, which consists of independent institutions, and institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification. The final 20 berths were reserved for Pool C, which include institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any remaining Pool B teams.

Lynchburg (21-1 overall) will face the Centre (16-4-2) on Saturday in first round action at Emory.  Host Emory (14-3-1) will face Piedmont (17-2-2) in the other first round game with the winners advancing to second round action on Sunday.

The Hornets will be facing the Colonels for the first time this season. Centre punched their NCAA dance card with the only Pool B bid. LC topped Washington and Lee University, 2-0, on Saturday to secure its 12th conference crown.

Sixteen four-team sites will conduct first- and second-round play on the first weekend of the championship, Nov. 15-16 or 16-17. Second-round winners will advance to one of four sectional sites Nov. 22-23 or 23-24. All matches, except the semifinals and final, will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. Winners of the four sectionals will advance to the semifinals at Toyota Field in San Antonio on Dec. 6-7.
