NCAA BRACKET | Randolph-Macon Enters Women's Soccer Field

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Nationally 14th-ranked Randolph-Macon College, winner of its 13th ODAC title on Sunday, learned of its bracket position in the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament on Monday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets are the ODAC's lone representative in the field.

The NCAA bracket is comprised of 64 teams set to compete on the national stage. Like R-MC, 43 teams earned entry via automatic qualification after winning their league titles. One school, the University of California-Santa Cruz, earned a Pool "B" bid as an independent or member of a conference that does not have an automatic entry. The remaining 20 schools earned at-large selections from the NCAA women's soccer committee.

Randolph-Macon heads north to Grantham, Pa., for play in a first and second round pod hosted by five-time NCAA champion Messiah College. The Yellow Jackets (20-0-1) take on Haverford College (12-4-2) in their first round matchup. The Fords, which earned an at-large selection, are one of a record five qualifiers from the Centennial Conference. A win for Randolph-Macon would setup a second round contest with either host Messiah (18-1-1) or Lesley University (14-3-2). The Falcons won the MAC Commonwealth title, while the Lynx earned the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) crown.

Tournament play begins with first and second round action on November 15-16 or November 16-17 depending on specific hosting scenarios. R-MC opens on Saturday, 11/16. The sectional rounds are set for November 22-24 with variations again due to specific hosting situations. The four teams that advance thru sectionals head to Greensboro, N.C., for the semifinal and championship rounds on December 6-7 at UNCG Soccer Stadium. The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the Greensboro Sports Foundation will serve as hosts.
