AMANDA NELMS, Randolph-Macon College, Freshman - Forward

Nelms, a freshman from Chesapeake, Virginia, netted three goals for the Yellow Jackets last week including two game winners.  Tuesday against Sweet Briar, Nelms broke up a scoreless tie with a goal in the 58th minute. The goal would prove to be the game-winner as Randolph-Macon downed Sweet Briar 4-0. Nelms scored twice in the Yellow Jackets 2-1 overtime win against Emory and Henry Saturday. The freshman forward tied the game 1-1 with a goal 65th minute and the score held to the end of regulation.  Four minutes into the overtime period Nelms netted her second goal of the game, giving R-MC the 2-1 overtime victory.

Women's Soccer Honor Roll

Morgan Keplinger, Bridgewater College, Freshman - Defender
Keplinger scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in BC's 2-0 victory over Sweet Briar. The goal was the first of her career. She also played solid defense in both games during the week - in the win over Sweet Briar and a 2-0 loss to perennial ODAC power Virginia Wesleyan

Bri Eilman, Guilford College, Sophomore - Midfielder
Eilman led Guilford to a 3-2 win at Hollins with a goal and an assist for a game-best three points.

Colleen Thamm, Hollins University, Senior - Forward
Thamm scored three goals in two ODAC games last week.  She scored once in a loss to Guilford, and followed that up with both goals in a 2-1 over Randolph.

Anna Wright, Lynchburg College, Junior - Goalkeeper
Wright helped the Hornets to a 1-0-1 record last week in a pair of ODAC games. She made six stops in a 4-1 victory over Roanoke College Wednesday and followed up with a double overtime shutout of conference leader Washington & Lee University on Saturday in Lexington.

Blaze Byrd, Virginia Wesleyan College, Junior - Defender
Byrd continued to be a defensive stalwart for the Marlins, who recorded their eighth and ninth shutouts of the season in a 2-0 week with a 2-0 win over Bridgewater College and a 3-0 win over Eastern Mennonite University.  She also scored a goal in the win over EMU, heading it into the right side for her first score of the year.  Byrd consistently disrupts the offensive flow of opposing teams.  She is a main contributor in a defensive unit that allowed EMU just three shots on goal and gave up just eight shots to BC.  VWC is now 9-3 overall and has allowed an average of just 7.2 shots per game.
