Montoya, a freshman from Delicias, Mexico, led Hollins to a 2-1 showing on its recent spring break trip by posting a 6-0 record in which she did not lose a set at either No. 1 singles or No. 2 doubles. Montoya posted No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles victories over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (6-4, 6-3) and Lawrence University (7-6, 6-2). She did the same against regionally 14th-ranked Huntingdon College, defeating the 25-ranked singles player, Katie Scott, 7-5, 7-6.

Rated 15th in the region by the ITA, Lukas went 3-1
at No. 3/4 singles and 3-1 at No. 1/2 doubles for the Generals as
W&L posted a 3-1 record for the week, including going a perfect
3-0 at the Fab Five tournament, hosted by Mary Washington. Lukas
fell to No. 4 Chicago’s Linden Li, 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 on Thursday
in No. 4 singles, then went on to defeat No. 22 Skidmore’s
Laura Attley (6-7, 7-5, 10-3) at No. 3 singles on Friday, No. 2
Emory’s Lindsay Reidenbach (2-6, 6-1, 6-2) on Saturday at No.
4 singles and No. 18 Johns Hopkins’ Mallory Willenborg (4-6,
6-1, 7-6) at No. 4 singles on Sunday. In doubles action, she
and Ann Morris paired up to defeat the same three teams after
falling to Chicago to open the week.
