Sonja Meighan, Washington and Lee, Jr., No. 1 Singles, No. 1 Doubles

Meighan, a junior from McLean, Va., posted a perfect 4-0 record in leading the Generals to a 2-0 week.  She won twice at No. 1 singles, dropping only five games in wins over Emory & Henry (6-3, 6-2) and Christopher Newport (6-0, 6-0).  She and partner Patricia Kirkland lost only two games in posting 8-2 and 8-0 wins at No. 1 doubles, respectively.  Meighan is now 17-2 in singles action and 15-3 with Kirkland in doubles play.

Women's Tennis Honor Roll

Katie Gordon, Bridgewater (Sr., Winchester, Va.)
Gordon churned out a tough No. 1 singles win against Randolph (6-3, 3-6, 10-6) before coasting thru in straight sets against Guilford (6-3, 6-2).  She and partner Maria Hawkins won both No. 1 doubles matches (8-4, 8-2).

Amy Rapp, Shenandoah (So., Pennsville, N.J.)
Rapp posted three singles wins in SU's 3-0 week.  She won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2 singles against Southern Virginia.  She followed that with No. 3 singles wins over Guilford (6-3, 7-5) and Emory & Henry (6-3, 6-1).  She and teammate Molly Barb won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles against SVU, and then Rapp paired with Caitlin Tilton to win 8-2 at No. 3 doubles over Guilford.
