Maria Hawkins, Bridgewater, So., No. 1 Singles, No. 1 Doubles

Hawkins, a sophomore from Silver Spring, Md., put together an 8-0 week by going 4-0 at #1 singles and 4-0 and #1 doubles with partner Marla O'Bryan.  She picked up her first wins (6-3, 6-2 and 8-2) against NAIA member Lawrence Tech, then and duplicated the effort in the Eagles 5-3 loss to Ohio Wesleyan.  Hawkins won 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 and 8-0 with O'Bryan.  In a 9-0 win over Sweet Briar, Hawkins topped 23rd regionally-ranked Caitlin Delmas, 4-6, 6-3, 10-5, in addition to an 8-1 in doubles play.  She capped her week with a 6-2, 6-2 singles victory and 8-4 doubles triumph in a 9-0 win over Guilford.

Women's Tennis Honor Roll

Victoria Coffee, Hollins (Sr. - Plano, Texas)
Coffee won 6-0, 6-0, at #1 singles against both Mary Baldwin and Averett, helping HU to 8-1 and 5-4 wins respectively.  She and Tiffany Hodges won 8-1 and 8-0 at #1 doubles.

Melissa Tomlin, Randolph-Macon (So. - Prince George, Va.)
Tomlin won 6-0, 6-0, at #3 singles and 8-6 with Molly Jesseman at #2 doubles in the Yellow Jackets 9-0 victory over Harford.

Amy Rapp, Shenandoah (Jr. - Pennsville, N.J.)
Rapp won three times at #4 singles, helping SU to wins over Virginia Wesleyan (5-4), Marietta (7-2) and Guilford (7-2).  She won in straight sets in each singles match, went 2-1 win Caitlin Tilton at #3 doubles.

Sonja Meighan, Washington and Lee (Sr. - McLean, Va.)
Meighan helped hte Generals to a 6-3 win over 11th-ranked Mary Washington.  She won 6-0, 6-2, at #1 singles and then joined Patricia Kirkland for an 8-2 win at #1 doubles.
