WLU's Ulrich Named AVCA All-American

Senior was a Two-Time All-ODAC First Team Honoree

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2008 Division III All-America teams on Tuesday and W&L senior right side Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa/Gettysburg) was named to the Honorable Mention team.

A First Team All-ODAC and First Team AVCA All-South Region performer this season, Ulrich posted 297 kills, 245 digs and 57 service aces in leading the Generals to a 31-7 overall record and an unblemished 10-0 record in ODAC play. W&L also won its eighth-straight league title and made its eighth-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Ulrich finishes her career ranked eighth on W&L's career kills list (919), eighth all-time in service aces (165) and sixth in career hitting percentage (.288).

Ulrich's selection to the AVCA Honorable Mention All-America Team marks the sixth-straight year that a W&L player has received All-America recognition. Junior outside hitter Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) received the same honor last season.
