Randolph-Macon Headed to UMW for NCAA Division III Volleyball Regional Play

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- For the second straight season, Randolph-Macon College will serve as the ODAC's lone representative in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets learned of their regional play location and first round opponent on Monday afternoon, with R-MC making the trip to the University of Mary Washington along with six other programs in an eight-team pod.

The NCAA bracket is comprised of 64 teams set to compete on the national stage.  Forty-three schools won their conference tournaments, awarding them automatic qualification into the field. Just one berth went to a true independent in "Pool B," while the remaining 20 spots went to at-large selections in "Pool C."

Randolph-Macon (23-7) squares off with Stevenson University (26-7) in its first round matchup at Mary Washington. The host Eagles (28-3) take on Cabrini College (18-14), with the winner of those two matches set to meet in round two. Christopher Newport University (25-9) and Johns Hopkins University (19-8) will meet in one of the other first round matches, with that winner playing the victor of Juniata College (24-6) and Meredith College (24-3).

Regional action is set for November 11-13.  The eigtht winners from the eight regional pods head to the Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh, Wis., for quarterfinal thru championship play. Those matches are slated for November 17-19 with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh serving as championship host.
