ODAC Pair Earns AVCA All-American Laurels

FOREST, Va. --- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its annual end of season women's volleyball awards last month following the completion of the fall 2021 campaign. Two ODAC stars received plaudits as Division III All-Americans.

Both of the conference's high honors winners don Randolph-Macon College colors. Middle blocker Sydney Koch and outside Hitter Grace Parker were both tabbed Honorable Mention All-Americans.

The All-America release came on the heels of the AVCA announcing its Division III All-Region Awards. The Yellow Jackets' All-American duo highlights four all-region team honorees in addition to one special award winner from ODAC members.

Koch is a four-time All-ODAC honoree, earning first team assignments the past three seasons following a third team appointment as a freshman in 2018. This is the second time she has earned Honorable Mention All-American status joining her sophomore season recogntion. Koch led the ODAC and ranked 27th in the country in attack percentage at .364. She was credited with 299.5 points earned powered by 254 kills (2.73/set) and 74 blocks (0.80/set). Koch closed her career with strong numbers including 652 kills and a .368 attack percentage with 268 blocks in 88 matches and 315 sets.

Parker is a three-time All-ODAC honoree pairing this year's first team award with second team selections and an ODAC Rookie of the Year plaque her first two seasons. Parker finished second in the ODAC in kills (348), attacks (1,038), and points earned (389.5). She was fourth in kills per set (3.45) and points per set (3.9). She also collected 215 digs and was in on 44 total blocks.
