Emily Latimer, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr.

Latimer, a senior from Chesapeake, Va., started off her season in winning fashion at the ODAC Preview Meet hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University at the site of the 2017 ODAC Championships. Latimer won the event with a six-kilometer time of 23:57.81, nearly four minutes faster than the second place competitor. Her efforts helped the Marlins to first in the team standings.

Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

Calista Ariel, BC: Won the Eagles' Cross Country Challenge with a time of 17:04.39 over the 4K layout. BC finished first as a team.

Michaela Mast, EMU: Finished first out of 43 competitors at the Hyder-McMahill Invitational, posting a 5K time of 20:16.7, a new personal-best. EMU finished first as a team.

Sommer Fanney, GC: Placed 16th out of 115 runners in a mostly D-II field at the Chick Fil A Invitational. Her 5K time of 20:58.9 is seventh-fastest in Guilford history.

Samantha Schreiber, LC: Finished 40th in the largely D-I and D-II field at the Covered Bridge Invite. Her 5K time of 19:15.91 helped Lynchburg to sixth in the team standings.

Kirsten McMichael, W&L: McMichael placed 15th of 51 runners at the Hokie Invitational, which featured a field largely composed of D-I and D-II runners. Her 4K time of 15:12.7 helped Washington and Lee to fourth in the team standings.
