Randolph-Macon Wins Second Straight ODAC Women's Golf Title

R-MC's Bowling Captures Individual Medal

CONOVER, N.C. --- Randolph-Macon College completed a wire-to-wire performance in the 2014 ODAC Women's Golf Championships to win it second straight conference title.  The Yellow Jackets have won the only two crowns in league history as the sport was officially sponsored under the ODAC banner for the first time in 2012-13.

Individually, R-MC's Olivia Bowling repeated as the medalist as she completed a start-to-finish victory with three solid rounds at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C.  Bowling posted an 11-over 227 with rounds of 77, 73 and 77, making her the only player to shoot sub-80 for all 54 holes.  Her 1-over par 73 on day two marked the low-round of the tournament on the 5,857-yard par-72 custom layout on the Jackson Course.

In addition to Bowling's 227, Tracy Moriconi (88-85-87---260) and Jenny Jeu (90-89-82---261) placed inside the top-10.  The fourth scoring Yellow Jacket, Rebecca Ream (92-89-90---271) finished in a tie for 11th, while Katie Raymond (92-92-95---279) rounded out R-MC's competing-five in 13th place.

Bridgewater College finished second in the team standings, lead by fourth and fifth place finishes from Marin Warring (81-79-83---243) and Andrea Walker (83-86-81---250).  Rachael Wright (80-78-83---241) led Washington and Lee University to third in the team ranks with a third-place individual showing.

Runner-up medalist went to Hollins University's Elizabeth Cheng.  The 20th-rated played in the country by Golfstat (www.golfstat.com) carded rounds of 79-81-76 (236).

Selections for the NCAA Divsion III Championships will be announced the evening of Monday, May 5.  Be sure to check www.ncaa.com that night for information on the national draw to see if any ODAC teams or competitors make the field.
