Virginia Wesleyan Enters as Top Seed, Lynchburg Claims Second

FOREST, Va. --- Virginia Wesleyan College (28-4 overall, 18-2 ODAC) enters the 2015 ODAC Softball Tournament as the top seed for the fourth straight season as the Marlins look to collect their fourth league trophy in the last five years.  VWC is one of eight teams headed to the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va., for the league's annual postseason event.

Lynchburg College (28-11, 16-4) had its position as the second seed wrapped up over the weekend, while Roanoke College (20-12, 15-5) played its final two regular season games on Wednesday evening and secured its spot as the three seed. Randolph-Macon College (22-10, 12-8) rounds out the top four as the fourth seed.

Guilford College (23-15, 11-9) matches up with the Yellow Jackets in the first round as the fifth seed, while sixth-seeded Emory & Henry College (23-10, 10-10) faces Lynchburg.   Eastern Mennonite University (16-12, 9-11) and Randolph College (17-17, 9-11) tied for the remaining two positions in the field.  The stalemate was broken via the ODAC's second step in the tiebreaker, awarding the Royals the seventh seed and a first round matchup with Lynchburg.  The WildCats cap the eight team contingent and clashes with VWC in game one.

The double-elimination tournament begins on Friday, April 24 and continues through Sunday, April 26.  All games will be played at the Moyer Sports Complex.
