Generals Ring Up 20th ODAC Swimming Crown
RADFORD, Va. --- Washington and Lee University
racked up 1,048 points to secure its third straight
ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championship Title and its 20th
overall ODAC swimming crown. The Generals won 16-of-18
events throughout the three-day affair with Randolph-Macon College
capturing the remaining two disciplines. The Yellow
Jackets placed second overall with 602 points while Sweet
Briar College finished third with 537 points.
Washington and Lee swept all but one of the individual honors
handed out on Sunday evening. Sarah Simpson was tabbed the
Swimmer of the Year while Kami Gardner won her second ODAC Coach of
the Year award. Generals' freshman Brittany Ross was selected
as the Rookie of the Year. Randoph-Macon took home the
remaining honor as Ellie Shea received the Bonnie Kestner
Sportsmanship Award.
