W&L Advances to ODAC Championship Game With a 3-0 Win Over BC

ASHLAND, Va. --- In the semifinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Randolph-Macon College, the second-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated third-seeded Bridgewater College, 3-0, on Saturday. The win advanced W&L to the championship match where it will face fourth-seeded Lynchburg College who upset top-seeded Randolph-Macon, 3-1, in the other semifinal.

The Generals (25-9) improved in each set to best the Eagles (18-15) in the 26-24, 25-21, 25-12 victory.

First-year outside hitter Anna Lausberg led the team with 16 kills and 10 digs for a double-double. Junior outside hitter M.A. Boles also had a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs.

Junior Meghan Meleski and first-year Alex Kinzer split the setting duties for the Generals. Meleski notched 25 assists, while Kinzer totaled 12. Leading the back row for W&L was first-year libero Kasey Cannon with 19 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Megann Grimes led Bridgewater with eight kills, and first-year libero Nikki Snyder had a team-high 15 digs.

The championship match will take place later on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
