ODAC Players of the Week: Nov. 23

ODAC basketball has been largely victorious over the first eight days of the 2009-10 campaign.  The league's teams, both men and women, combined for a 39-20 record, including an 8-0 start within the men's fixtures.  ODAC swimming also continued throughout the past week of action.

Donald Vaughn and Tonia Jones have helped Virginia Wesleyan open undefeated on both sides.  Vaughn has averaged 20 points and better than eight rebounds through three contests that include a victory over Averett.  Against N.C. Wesleyan, notched a career-high 25 points to go with nine rebounds, six blocks and three steals.

Jones is averaging 20.5 points in helping the Marlins to a 2-0 start.  She poured in 34 markers in a win over Meredith.  Jones was 14-of-20 from the field, including a 6-for-8 showing from beyond the arc.  She added three assists and three steals to her efforts.

Washington and Lee's Katie Salvati led the Generals in a competitive tri-meet at Carnegie Mellon with the University of Rochester.  Salvati posted two times near the top of the ODAC, including a season-best mark for the league in the 200-yard IM.  She took second overall in that event, as well as in the 200-yard backstroke.
