FOREST, Va. --- Football exits but men's and women's basketball join men's and women's swimming in the pre-Thanksgiving holiday report. Swimmers continued to post blistering times while league basketball players are seemingly in mid-season form already. Those earning weekly honors include (pictured, l-r, t-b): Carson Long from Guilford men's basketball, Emily Hageboeck and Danny Lynch from Washington and Lee swimming, and Kelly Williams from Randolph-Macon women's basketball.

ODAC Players of the Week

Thru Week Prior to: November 20, 2017

MEN'S BASKETBALL Carson Long, Guilford, Jr., Forward Long, a junior from Pilot Mountain, N.C., started off the season by nearly averaging a double-double in a 2-1 week for the 18th-ranked Quakers. Long opened with 18 points and 12 rebounds with a steal in a 98-88 win at Greensboro. He then went for 10 points, six boards, two steals, and two blocks in a narrow 68-67 setback to Concordia (Texas) to open the Daly Seven Tip-Off Classic. Long exploded in the final game with a career-high 36 points on 13-of-25 from the field and 6-of-6 from the stripe. MEN'S SWIMMING Danny Lynch, Washington and Lee, Fr. Lynch, a freshman from Richmond, Va., put together a strong showing in helping Washington and Lee to second place at the Franklin & Marshall Winter Invitational with 1,202.5 points in the 11-team event. Lynch posted a trio of ODAC top-five times with two that top the charts. He won the 200-yard butterfly with an ODAC-best time of 1:54.63. He placed fifth in the 1,650-yard freestyle at 16.29.32, which also leads the conference list. WOMEN'S SWIMMING Emily Hageboeck, Washington and Lee, So. Hageboeck, a sophomore from Charleston, W.Va., continues to post blistering times as she won twice and registered a trio of ODAC top times in helping Washington and Lee to second place with 1,301 points at the Franklin & Marshall Winter Invitational. Hageboeck recorded a NCAA "B" cut time at 2:19.50 in winning the 200-yard breaststroke. She also won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.12 and finished third in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:31.55. Hageboeck helped her teammates finish first in the 400-yard medley relay in 3:50.93. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Kelly Williams, Randolph-Macon, So., Center Williams, a sophomore from Garysburg, N.C., was nothing short of spectacular in three games to open the season as she averaged 26.7 points, 21.7 rebounds and 4.3 blocked shots in a 2-1 showing for Randolph-Macon. Williams dropped a career-high 34 points on 11-of-18 shooting and 12-of-16 from the line in a 78-73 upset of 14th-ranked Marymount (Va.). She added 22 rebounds with nine via the offensive glass, and also blocked six shots. In a 65-62 setback to Juniata, Williams registered 21 points despite an off shooting day (8-of-26). She grabbed 25 rebounds (9 offensive) and blocked three shots. She capped her R-MC Tip-Off Classic MOP performance with 25 points and 18 boards (8 offensive) and four blocked shots.
