D3football.com and BSN Honor Tigers' Signal-Caller
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. --- Senior
quarterback Travis
Lane has now earned national recognition for his
outstanding performance against North Carolina Wesleyan. The
Tigers' signal-caller was named to the D3football.com Team
of the Week as well as a Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Offensive
Player of the Week. BSN also rated Lane a Preseason
All-American.
Lane's breakout day ranked second in the ODAC single-game record
books in completion percentage (87.5% on 28-32) and touchdown
passes (7). He also threw for 389 yards. The most impressive aspect
of his performance was the fact that he did the majority of his
damage in just three quarters. Lane played one down of the fourth
quarter; the result - a 12 yard touchdown pass.
Through two games, Lane has thrown 10 touchdowns to just one
interception with 622 yards on 48-of-62 (77.4%) accuracy.
Lane and the Tigers return to action this Saturday at Lewis C.
Everett Stadium as they host the Panthers of Ferrum College.
