 Offensive Player of the Week

Luke Heinsohn| Washington and Lee| Sr.| Running Back
Heinsohn, a senior from Charlottesville, Va., helped the Generals post a 45-42 win over Hampden-Sydney that took four overtimes to decide, marking the longest game in Washington and Lee football history. It also clinched the 2012 ODAC football title for Washington and Lee. Heinsohn, W&L's lead running back and place-kicker, registered a school-record and ODAC all-time second-best 33 points as he ran for four touchdowns, recorded a two-point conversion, made four extra-point attempts, and booted the game-winning 37-yard field goal. The four touchdowns give Heinsohn 21 on the season, while the 33 points improve his season-total to 176, which eclipses the ODAC single-season record of 164 set by Hampden-Sydney's Josh Simpson in 2007. Heinsohn carried the ball 35 times for 192 yards in Saturday's win, increasing his season total to an ODAC-best 1,153 yards. His 192 yards was a part of a 451-yard rushing day for W&L. The Generals are now 15-0 when they run for more than 400 yards over the last three years.

 Defensive Player of the Week

 Satiir Stevenson| Guilford| So.| Defensive Back
Stevenson, a sophomore from Roselle, N.J., helped lead the Quakers to a 26-10 win over Catholic on Saturday. Stevenson finished one tackle short of the team-high with seven stops in addition to a pair of interceptions to give him four on the season, tied atop the ODAC with Shenandoah's Brandon Martin and Washington and Lee's Jake Pelton. Stevenson is the first Quaker since 2009 to record a pair of interceptions in one game. Each of his four interceptions have come in the past five games. On Saturday against CUA, Stevenson's first interception put an end to a Cardinal's drive at the GC five-yard line. His second pick came with just under two minutes to play to help seal the Quakers' fifth victory of the season, their most since 2007. Stevenson was also busy on special teams as he set up Guilford's first touchdown with a 31-yard punt return just before halftime. He also had a 27-yard kick-off return.

Team News and Notes

BRIDGEWATER quarterback Willie Logan rushed for a career-high 132 yards and two scores and threw for an additional touchdown but BC couldn't overcome an efficient Randolph-Macon attack as the Eagles fell by a 38-26 tally at Day Field. Logan accounted for 84% of Bridgewater’s offense in the loss as the Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention for the seventh year in a row. Randolph-Macon used a 21-point second quarter to pull away from the Eagles as Bridgewater stumbled out of the gate, with no first downs and just 23 total yards in the first 15 minutes of play. Freshman place kicker Chandler DeHaven split the uprights from 47 yards out to cut the lead to 24-10 at the intermission. DeHaven's kick was the fourth-longest kick in program history, matching three others of 47 yards. His kick was the program's longest since David Blackwell's 47-yard field goal at Washington and Jefferson in the 2005 playoffs. The freshman also made a field goal later in the contest to round out the scoring for Bridgewater. The Bridgewater surrendered 38 points to R-MC, which is a season-high for a BC opponent. Bridgewater was paced by the efforts of Andrew Palmer’s 10 tackles and a two-sack performance from Logan Whitaker.

NEXT WEEK: at Catholic (3-6, 2-4 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.
Bridgewater and Catholic wrap up the 2012 season on Saturday in Washington, D.C., on Senior Day for the Cardinals.  The Eagles lead the all-time series with a 16-6 record. Bridgewater’s longest active winning streak against an ODAC opponent is against the Cardinals as the Eagles ride an 11-game run into Saturday’s showdown in the nation’s capital. Catholic’s last win against the Eagles came in 1999 at Jopson Field as Catholic trounced Bridgewater by a 35-14 tally. Catholic’s last win over Bridgewater in Washington, D.C was in 1978 by a 14-7 tally. Last season, quarterback Carlos Gonzalez hit sophomore wide receiver Cliff Woodard on the numbers and Woodard did the rest as the Eagles went 63 yards in 20 seconds to come from behind for a 22-19 victory on Senior Day over the visiting Cardinals in a thriller at Jopson Field. Anthony Carter rushed for 135 yards in his final contest with the Eagles while Greg Cordivari went 38-of-67 for 345 yards and two scores for Catholic. The junior set a new school record with 67 pass attempts.

CATHOLIC dropped its third straight ODAC contest on Saturday, falling 24-10 at Guilford. The Cardinals pulled to within 16-10 midway through the 4th quarter, but the Quakers added one more TD to seal the win. Conor Stueckler registered his fifth straight game of double-digit tackles, finishing with 14. He now has seven games with 10+ tackles this season. Kevin Ross joined Steuckler in double digits with 10 stops of his own. Tucker Hubbell scored CUA's lone touchdown of the day, catching a 10-yard scoring pass from Greg Cordivari. CUA had only 274 yards of total offense, and lost the TOP battle, 35:54 to 24:06.

NEXT WEEK: vs. Bridgewater (6-3, 3-3 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.
Bridgewater and Catholic wrap up the 2012 season on Saturday in Washington, D.C., on Senior Day for the Cardinals.  The Eagles lead the all-time series with a 16-6 record. EMORY & HENRY picked up its second win in three weeks to move to 5-4 (2-4 ODAC) Saturday with a 20-17 comeback win over Shenandoah… The Wasp offense picked up 359 yards of offense with 16 first downs and were able to grind out the win despite only possessing the ball for 19:43 … Junior quarterback Kyle Boden threw for 261 yards on 20-for-31 passing and two touchdowns ...  Senior Corey Ware caught seven passes, two of which were touchdowns, including the game-winner, a 59-yard catch and run with just over 90 seconds remaining on the clock … Junior Chad Williams had six receptions for 62 yards while sophomore running back Joe Vaughn rushed for 71 yards and caught six passes for 45 more.  Despite allowing 17 straight points in the middle of the game and being on the field for over 40 minutes, the Emory & Henry defense was back to its bend-but-don't-break self … The Wasps forced a pair of punts in the fourth quarter when it mattered the most and the offense went on to score back-to-back touchdowns to erase the 17-7 deficit … Senior linebacker Devan Sproles and freshman counterpart Rennel Marshall had 15 tackles each while senior linebacker Ross Ellis tallied 14 stops and 2 tackles for loss and junior defensive end Cody Williams made 10 tackles as well … Sophomore defensive back Matt Kardulis had an interception in the first half.

GUILFORD quarterback Matt Pawlowski and running back Mike Williams both picked up over 100 rushing yards in Guilford's win over Catholic, the first time two Quakers' backs have both rushed for over 100 yards in the same game since Sept. 8, 2001... Williams moved into seventh place on Guilford's career rushing list with 1,549 yards. His team-leading 657 rushing yards this season stand 13th all-time at Guilford... the Quakers finished with a season-high 243 rushing yards, its best single-game total since 2008. Pawlowski rushed for a game- and career-high 136 yards and a touchdown, setting the GC record for rushing yards in a game by a quarterback.  He passed for 201 yards, which moved him into seventh place on GC's single-season passing yardage list (2,120).  Defensive back Satiir Stevenson made seven stops and came away with a pair of interceptions to give him four on the year.  Robert Smith and Daytwyn Roscoe led the unit with eight tackles apiece.  Alex Smith got a piece of a Catholic punt in the first quarter, which helped setup a Tyler Hunter field goal.  Hunt tied a school record with three field goals in the game. His longest, a career-best 41-yard boot, marks the Quakers' longest since Travis Frazier's 42-yard kick against Methodist in 2006. Hunt is 9-for-12 in field goals this season and has made five straight kicks. His nine field goals rank sixth on Guilford's single-season list.
