READ THE ODAC FOOTBALL REPORT: WEEK 11
ODAC and school record books got a workout on Saturday with several explosive performances highlighting this weekend's games. But the biggest headline belongs to Washington and Lee as the Generals secured the ODAC title with a win at Shenandoah. They will face the University of Mount Union in the NCAA first round. Randolph-Macon claimed a win in "The Game" against Hampden-Sydney, while Guilford closed with a win over Emory & Henry. Bridgewater dropped its final contest of the season in non-conference play.
THE GAMES
WASHINGTON AND LEE 48, SHENANDOAH 21 -- Box Score
Washington and Lee spotted itself to a 27-7 halftime lead and racked up 613 yards of offense in defeating Shenandoah, 48-21. The win coupled with a Hampden-Sydney loss secured the ODAC title for the Generals, their fourth in the last eight years and seventh overall.
RANDOLPH-MACON 56, HAMPDEN-SYDNEY 28 -- Box Score
Randolph-Macon ran for 294 yards and churned out eight rushing touchdowns led by five from Eric Hoy on the way to a 56-28 victory in the 122nd edition of "The Game" against Hampden-Sydney. R-MC has won six of the past seven meetings to close the regular season.
GUILFORD 42, EMORY & HENRY 38 -- Box Score
Guilford recovered from a 21-0 halftime deficit with six second-half touchdowns on the way to a 42-38 win over Emory & Henry to close the 2017 season. E&H outgained GC, 712-373, with the yardage marking a school-record for the Wasps, but five turnovers hampered their efforts on the scoreboard.
WASHINGTON-ST. LOUIS 41, BRIDGEWATER 7 -- Box Score
Bridgewater was held to just 181 yards of offense in closing its season with a 41-7 non-conference loss at Washington University in St. Louis. The loss marks the third straight for the Eagles.
NCAA Division III Tournament
Washington and Lee heads to Alliance, Ohio for a date with the University of Mount Union in first round action of the NCAA Division III Football Tournament. This will be the first meeting between the two foes. The Generals enter the contest having won six straight games on the way to an 8-2 overall record and a 5-1 league mark that resulted in the ODAC's automatic qualification to the national field of 32 teams. W&L is 0-4 in its four NCAA D-III Tournament appearances, with its last coming in 2015. Mount Union enters the tournament at 10-0 following a 9-0 sprint thru the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Purple Raiders are 12-time national champions and seven-time runners-up, with each of those finishes coming in Salem since 1993.

ODAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSE: Randolph-Macon all-purpose back Eric Hoy, a junior from Clayton, N.C., etched his name in the ODAC record book following his performance in the Yellow Jackets' 56-28 win over Hampden-Sydney in the 122nd edition of "The Game" on Saturday. Hoy found the end zone five times via the rush, tying for second in ODAC history in both single-game rushing touchdowns and single-game overall touchdowns. The last time an ODAC player scored five touchdowns in a game was 2012 (H-SC's Vance Hendren). The 30 points tie for fourth-most in league history, joining the efforts of four other players. Hoy's last three touchdowns marked the game's final scores as he helped break open a 35-28 game with a late third quarter touchdown and two more in the final frame. He finished with 21 carries for 93 yards with an additional 77 yards on eight receptions. He completed a pass on a half-back option that covered 29 yards, and made a pair of tackles on special teams to add to his stat sheet. Hoy finishes the season with 359 yards and 11 touchdowns on 67 carries. The 11 rushing TDs are fourth in the league. He also caught 50 passes for 416 yards and four more touchdowns. His 15 overall touchdowns are fourth-most in the league along with his 90 points.
DEFENSE: Randolph-Macon defensive back Ryan Burns, a senior from Fredericksburg, Va., helped the Yellow Jackets shutdown Hampden-Sydney's offense in the second half on the way to a 56-28 victory in the 122nd edition of "The Game" on Saturday. Burns posted a game-high 15 tackles with 10 solo stops -- also a game-best. He also led all players with five passes defensed, including a momentum-swinging interception. With R-MC leading 28-21 early in the third quarter, Burns broke off his coverage assignment and intercepted a possible touchdown pass at the goal-line. He returned it 39 yards to setup Randolph-Macon with what would become a touchdown scoring drive, turning his interception into a possible 13-point swing-play. Burns finishes the season with 52 tackles including 36 solo stops. He notched three interceptions and broke up a league-best 16 passes.
